Weird stuff from Katushia. Looked like a good leadout and then Kristoff stood still. Might have had some technical issues. Cav never close either.

Not knowing where the line was, I thought he was too far back. But his acceleration was huge

Looked like he was losing the wheel there but he's way quicker than guys like Wippert and Groenewegen.

He's just so good at navigating the peloton. I have to say I like sprinters who don't need trains.

For once his poor positioning was an advantage. Massive headwind there, look at the flags on the video
Very very poor by Dimension Data. Who was the last guy leading out Cavendish?

No one joking about being second anymore...

In the replay see how the gap opens up between Sagan & Fenn .

If you think that about Wippert and Groenewegen, where do Cav, Kristoff and Degenkolb fit in?

I didn't watch because it was late and I thought Wippert would stand no chance in this field, but he came really close.

Stage 2 looks an interesting stage. Plenty of challenging climbs but a relative flat finish. One for Kennaugh?

Does anyone know what happened to Andersen? Think he was Giant's main GC hope, but finished dead last on stage 1, nearly four minutes down
