Why? He needs minutes before the ITT, mano a mano on Aubisque if Froome doesn't crack is hardly achievable so the best bet is a long range with a few guys helping out down the road. Hope that's the plan.

About this strategy... What will Movistar actually do when Froome drops at least Valverde on the Penultimate stage, and also drops Quintana at least on the descent?

Anyway, if not for Sky, Dani Moreno would win this Vuelta easily. Just imagine that.

Zubeldia has been almost distressingly visible this Vuelta. I've seen him like 5 times so far, and now he is in a breakaway (of course one of 40 riders, but still)
