Riders like Stuyven, Haas can win if they make this hard dropping Ewan, Griepel
We should expect at least that.
Clearly the lack of race condition is affecting his climbing much more than his sprinting.Cance > TheRest said:Oh Giacomo. The shape is really bad when he's dropped in these conditions
Logical. He couldn't do much for months with his injury, and then he barely had any race days before this Giro. His condition is total sh.tCance > TheRest said:Oh Giacomo. The shape is really bad when he's dropped in these conditions

Yes. Hopefully he'll get better as the race progresses. Stuyven could still finish in the top 3-5 today if all goes wellBrullnux said:Clearly the lack of race condition is affecting his climbing much more than his sprinting.Cance > TheRest said:Oh Giacomo. 220 lumpy kms right at the start of three weeks should really invite some ppl imo. But I guess the headwind make it very hard.Orbit501 said:rainman said:I cant recall a more boring stage even in the TDF. A local sportive last week was faster.
220 lumpy kms, right at the start of three weeks, hard stage coming on stage 4.
I'm willing to cut them some slack personally.
In the Tour there's no waiting for the mainland for the racing to begin.Kwibus said:sir fly said:That's the difference between the two GTs.
If anything this is more like typical TdF racing.
There is just a lack of puncheurs, of teams willing to give this stage a shot. GC teams want to keep their leader safe, sprinter teams want to have a sprint.
Shame Astana or Cannondale didn't give it a shot though.
Well on the plus side Sardinia looks fabulousOrbit501 said:rainman said:I cant recall a more boring stage even in the TDF. A local sportive last week was faster.

Yep, in the Tour they don't wait for the mainland to attack, they wait for ever.
