What does it even matter what the race is called? That's (probably) not gonna have any influence on how the riders race it.
It can have an influence on its long-term prestige, therefore on future fields, etc.
Wait, what?

It (can) lose(s) some of its identity and its historical recognition. I think that is pretty straightforward.

"I won Paris-Roubaix!"
vs
"I won the Anatomic Jock Race!"

(I'm sure Amstel Gold Race's prestige is so-so because its name is so lame)

I like the route very much.
And good to see it's on ES.

Should be interesting finale today. Sky's already appearing at the front.

Should it be called Ronde van Limburg? (I see there's a Belgian race called that...)

Of course you used a ridiculous, unrealistic example.

I'm fine with the name change, but then I just don't care about that kind of thing too much. It's not the first race to change its name.

Good finish.
Congrats to Scarponi. He's a reliability
Astana should be happy having him.

His climbing in last years giro was good enough to top 5. Don't write him off for a good ride this year
