My list of favorites for Sunday:

1. Peter Sagan: Obvious favorite, but it won't be easy to win a third time.
2. Michal Kwiatkowski: Tactically strong, course comparable to Ponferrada.
3. Greg Van Avermaet: Can win big races, has beaten Sagan in sprints.
4. Michael Matthews: Can handle the climb, has a good sprint and a strong team.
5. Matteo Trentin: Good sprinter in shape with a decent team.
6. Edvald Boasson Hagen: Home favorite, good course for him.
7. Philippe Gilbert: Impressive in Flanders, strong team.
8. Julian Alaphilippe: Leader of a strong team, but he would prefer a tougher climb.
9. Alexander Kristoff: Fastest Norwegian, but he had a weak season.
10. Fernando Gaviria: Good sprinter who can handle a climb.
11. Zdenek Stybar
12. Daniel Martin
13. Roman Kreuziger
14. Ian Stannard
15. Rui Costa
16. Tom Dumoulin
17. Elia Viviani

EBH with eighth best time on the final climb today - looking good for Sunday!

Eddy is gonna be a monster on Sunday!

This augurs very well for his prospects on Sunday. His sprinting legs were great in Tour of Britain (right there with Ewan, Viviani etc) so if he's also climbing that well then he has a big chance. I still prefer Matthews but maybe this is finally EBH's time.

I don't think this will be an epic race by any means, but the last half hour should be fabulous.

Gawd some people on this forum seriously need counselling

When the thread for every race appears ...its " its going to be boring" " Its going to be terrible" .gnashing of teeth and wailing everytime ..EVERY TIME !!

And then 80% of the time the race is very good but hey ho they do again for the next race ...
