Terrible post. Lotto finished 3rd - a strong result. And Valverde was 2nd - it hardly killed him. Alaphilippe was just on fire - a great performance from him.El Pistolero said:

What this race mostly showed is that Valverde never was unbeatable. I don't think he was any worse than in previous years, but he didn't have the team to control everything and then the tempo on the Mur was super high right from the beginning. That's how it's done.

The real mistake was to ride for Wellens and not for Vanendert, but who could've known Vanendert was gonna be this strong.

Indeed. Who would have though that Alaphilippe was correct not to try to close a 50 second gap the breakaway solo. Quickstep weren't so pathetic after all.Zinoviev Letter said:
