No chance. Roglic welcome the break from the jersey for a week or so.

I'd guess their deal would involve Masnada working more so Conti can try keep the jersey as long as possible.
Plaza tried hard but failed. Shocker!tobydawq said:The big question is: Who of Plaza and Carboni will beat Rojas so he gets his mandatory fourth spot?

I agree, they were stunning in Tour of the Alps.
I do think Oomen is the greater overall threat though, over a 3 week race. - He is a young GC contender in training, who - I remind you - got 9th overall at last years Giro.
Handing him 7 minutes, when he had already lost 6 helping Dumoulin, seems weird to me.
I do understand Jumbo wanting to lose the jersey this early in the race, but I don't understand the size of the gap..... Conti was only 2 minutes ahead - no need to give them 7!
Your reasoning don't really make sense. Whether Oomen has lost time due to helping Dumo, crashing, being bad or whatever doesn't matter. Oomen is a fine young rider in the mountains, but he is nothing in the bigger picture of things. Therefore, the other teams dont really care about him, Conti and all the other guys.

How many Giro stages has he won since he can just afford to piss such a chance away?
Very deserved. A great racer, young Masnada.King Boonen said:Great finish, deserved winner and good sportsmanship from Conti.

He also gains respect and possible friends in similar situations in the future. Not to be underestimated.King Boonen said:tobydawq said:I hate these stupid deals. What on earth did Conti gain from letting Masnada win?

He gains legs and energy for later stages that isn't wasted fighting for a win he might not get.
