he looks incredible now but these stages have not been very hard at all, there's been a large group at the finish on both of the big days. i think it's hard to tell if he's peaking now or not based on this race alone. i think he'll be fine, he just came down from altitude, too.

Lmao Roglic is imply too good. I don't even think he has peaked too early or something like that. I think he is my favourite for the Giro at this point, but I maybe be overreacting.
It's also not exactly a stellar field to be fair.

He's basically outpunching a bunch of climbers, which won't decide the Giro in the end.

Tomorrow under normal circunstances Roglic will win the overall but Thomas is still a danger.
Regarding the Giro, I hope he can hold his shape for three weeks but at least he can gain a lot of time in the first week TTs (except to Dumoulin).

He'll win the ITT tomorrow, too. The Giro can't come soon enough. Can't wait.

His only problem may be peaking too early? Especially with the backloaded Giro.

Indeed.....this is my concern. Has he already peaked and how long can he hold it.
I don't think he's peaking at all. He won an uphill sprint today in a stage where 10 riders had the same time at the finish and the opposition isn't the World's best. He'll win many sprints against other climbers not named Valverde or Alaphilippe.

The same happened last year in Tour of Slovenia in the preparation race for TdF. He was a class above the rest including Uran and Majka, yet his best showing in the TdF was by far in the 3rd week. The only slight concern I have for him for the Giro is those consecutive over 200km mountain stages with multiple climbs.

The terrain in this Romandie is alot different to the Giro but I don't agree that the field is very weak....Thomas, Gaudu,Woods Buchman are very strong esp on such terrain as this Romandie

If Dumoulin, Froome, Landa, Quintana, Bardet, Pinot or Nibali were there then Roglic would also have won
Only ones to challenge him in Romandie terrain would be the Yates brothers, or maybe Alaphilippe or Bernal in a week race

The Giro is a very different kettle of fish

There is always a fear of peaking early sure. But I look at it from a different perspective. If we look at his current season, nobody can has his 2019 season hasn't been a success already, regardless of what happens in the GTs. Meanwhile you have guys who train solely for a Giro or a Tour and then something unpredictable happens like a mechanical, crsswinds, crash, bad luck in general. And then basically you can't say you've had a successful season, unless you manage to do something later in the season of course.

Surely Porte has been the best 1 week stage racer of the past few years?
