Both Alaphilippe and VDP told RAI they believe the route change won't make much of a difference. The selection was always going to happen in the circuit.

Because they are ***. 11 laps would have meant it still was under the length originally planned. So, Rolf Sørensen just made a pretty good point on Danish television:
Why not have 10 or 11 laps? To keep the distance...
Because they are brilliant. 11 laps would have meant it still was under the length originally planned.
I just don't get this *** organization sometimes. Somehow I lost a lot of motivation right there.
It's Yorkshire, the best time for good weather there is never. But if we're ignoring likely weather, I want a WC here in South-East Queensland, Australia. Who cares if storms would probably disrupt a few races, there's some great terrain to use.The first mistake was putting it in England in the late September. They should have expected a lot of rain.
I was super excited, woke up and now realized they changed yet another great stage/race due to weather. Guess its the fact that that also happened in Gavia and Val Thorens earlier this year which ended up in relatively meh races. And although it maybe doesn't mean that much, I just dont understand why they wouldn't do that extra lap to keep the distance as originally planned. Just feels like UCI are inept at what they are doing. You lost motivation? To do what?

Shame for the neutrals but maybe not for usThe forecast posted on the previous page showed the heaviest rain at 10am, so exactly when they’d be going up the first 2 big climbs, and with the runoff accumulating just in time to flood as they go over the 3rd. Better that they be proactive and avoid a repeat of the TdF.
But yeah, shame the big hills are out.

I agree especially having now seen the photo of Buttertubs looking like a like. My post was countering someone saying it’s not raining at the time. The forecast posted on the previous page showed the heaviest rain at 10am, so exactly when they’d be going up the first 2 big climbs, and with the runoff accumulating just in time to flood as they go over the 3rd.
