So Belgium is pulling on the front, while Gilbert is not back yet...and Evenepoel is dropped...

And how do you know that they didnt do that?
If they did, they clearly didn't pay attention or are just incompetent. It's completely unacceptable to lose images for an hour and a half halfway through the World Champs.

I'm reading that one of their relay planes had to land for a refuel and the other that should have gotten up in the air had mechanical issues. Complete clusterfuck.

With no radios, black jackets and these weather conditions I'm not 100% sure anybody knows where his teammates are.

They've had so long to get it together - they should have asked for advice from the Flanders Classics organization or RCS - they get rain all the time and hardly ever lose images

As I uderstand it the visibility (or lack of it) prevents the helicopters from flying) and there is one fixed wing plane to relay live TV fromm the motos. That plane has had to return to refuel. Except by having a second plane with the necessary equipment, it can't presently be done. There seems to be no suitably equipped second plane. Do they always have one for the Flanders Classics?

I don’t think people are quite grasping that this is extremely unusual weather for this time of year. Of course they expect and can cope with rain, it’s Yorkshire. But not rain like this.
Agree with this.
There's really not much they can do.

Sounds to me like they are doing everything they can to actually provide some images at all. Im not gonna be one to complain about it. The weather is just unfortunate, but whoever wins will be well deserved of it.

For the 6th? time now, blame the weather for making the helicopter useless
come on, I know, but what a surprise incredible horrible never seen catastrophe happened: it's raining in England! Nobody expects the rain inquisition!

Could not be foreseen, could not be prepared for... nowadays anyone could install literally HUNDREDS of webcams around the circuit personally in one day, if streaming over mobile networks is somehow not possible (from motos) everywhere (weak signal or whatever) as a backup.

Gilbert getting nice applause from the crowd as he rides in. Well done.

Edit: He's really broken up about this. He was definitely a favorite.

If I saw it correctly, Gilbert gave Evenepoel a sign to go ahead without him right after the crash, but RE refused to... I believe he stayed with him of his own volition.
