It looked like he knew that there were be a short descent after that spot, and timed the attack accordingly. Smart,Vendrame with a smart attack there. Hardest part of the climb coming now though.
He was 5th from the breakaway on the Sestriere stage last year.Wow, Vendrame, who expected that?![]()
To be fair he almost won a MTF from the break a couple of years ago.Wow, Vendrame, who expected that?![]()
Unfortunately he'll get dropped on the hard part of the climb by Bennett.Brambilla looking pretty good![]()
Because it's the GiroHow is this a cat. 3 climb?
On the plus side, it's hard enough that the GC riders might try something.Because it's the Giro
Now they are both dropped.Unfortunately he'll get dropped on the hard part of the climb by Bennett.
Might happen yet... One canIf any GC team was still trying to beat Bernal, this would have been easily hard enough for attacks. Can't remember a Giro where every team seems to have given up on beating the race leader before the Alps yet here we are...
meh imo it's better having a day like this after yesterday, it gives an option to make a difference based on fatigue and effort if teams want it.Too bad the placement of this stage didn’t come on a different day—this climb would have been nice for GC action .
Or now - LOLNot a big enough gap, they should come back together on the decent.
Would be surprised if he doesn't.Brambilla attack on the decent? He is one of the best downhill in the peloton.
