Ineos have this one wrapped up. Better ride by Yates and some frontier justice on the side of the road ! Please don't touch the riders. Nice win for Fortunato. Bernal just too good for this field at the moment. Remco leaking more time as expected.

Did people really expect action before 3km to go?

Yates looks like he's been saving himself the past 13 stages, but Bernal's too good. I've never seen him this strong

Yes, the stage was okay. We knew what he would get.
The Astana downhill "attack" was nice to watch and was more action then expected.
I think on Monday the downhills could be interesting, too.

First win for Fortunato in over 8 years, talk about winning big time.
Bernal is by far the strongest. Ciccone actually did better than Carthy, Vlasov and Buchmann, maybe the sterrato took just a lot out of a poor tter/bad rouleur like him.
Ps: #freeAlmeida ;)

He would be free if he hadn't lost time early on.

I dont know what crazy expectations some of yall have sometimes.

I did not expect more, but I miss the early 2000's way of climbing where they basically entered the final climb at full speed and then it was mano a mano from the beginning. Not just getting chauffeured to the top before sprinting for some seconds.

Likeable character this Fortunato.
Pure joy on his face.

Such a savvy sport in front of the cameras this Lorenzo. Man did he tear himself inside out in that attack he made, I was sure he's bursting in tears before finnish line, such pain in his face. Brutal effort.

Are we witnessing birth of the new Rem....well nevermind.

I think Egan wasn't feeling so well today. He followed the right wheels until last 500 meters. No one else was able to keep on his wheel anyway.

Tbf it'd be one thing if we got action at 3k to go which fair was expected. We got it at about 1k to go. They were just riding being Martinez and Castro before that.

Then the action we got was Yates doing a not very explosive attack that gapped everyone bar Bernal pretty immediately.

On the other hand, the gap is 4:40 between the two now and Almeida would have at least gained back 1:45 on the gravel stage with looking better than Remco again today. My guess would be that if they can ride free, they will end up similar in GC. But then again that doesn't really matter that much since its max. a lower top 10 anyway.

Mollema and Bennett...
I like both of them, but man...
they have teammates working their a** off for them and then they lose on this climb to Fortunato and Tratnik. :tearsofjoy:
Bennett just not a winner. He always get outsmarted in breaks and he crashes a lot. Sitting in front of Roglic is the best place for him as dangerous as that is for Roglic. Mollema at least sometimes wins good races.
