Uh...he lost 11 seconds on a tough day. I think he's in white and still ahead of most of the GC guys? And stands only to get more form as time goes on?Welcome to GT racing Remco, think he may regret riding some warm up races.
Too early to tell. We know Bernal is good, but we don't know the impact of the weather on the performance of the losers. It seems the case for Almeida at least. It's perfectly possible that Yates and Almeida show a dominant performance during the next mountain stage when it's warm and sunny.Bernal'2019 will crush them all.

Not at all, its early doors yes, and so far so good but its a long way to go, I just think he may regret doing a race or 2 prior to get in the swing of things. No hate. You make it sound like this is a bad result?
I'm surprised Yates wasn't on Bernal immediately. Maybe he's timing his peak better for once
When Merckx won his first mountain stage, headlines were "sprinter now wins in the mountains".A sprinter like Fiorelli finishing 3rd today is really impressive.
Also, some guys may have been hit harder by the cold than others. But I think Yates was not worried.I'm surprised Yates wasn't on Bernal immediately. Maybe he's timing his peak better for once
I'm stoked to see Dombrowski win, not too many Americans winning these days!
Ciccone probably has the legs, but I don't know if a hothead like him has the right mindset to ride for the gc in a gt.Interesting that Ciccone was the strongest rider for Trek today. I thought Mollema would have been a safer bet given his solid record in GTs
Wait. Dombrowski is 30? Damn, we're all getting old..
Vlasov, Bernal, Landa looks strong.
Almeida an Jumbo Visma not so much
How? There are 2 guys in front of him. Will be good to see Evenepoel in the white jersey now though.
Yeah, but Fiorelli is an actual sprinter. He only started cycling right before he turned 20.When Merckx won his first mountain stage, headlines were "sprinter now wins in the mountains".
Wait until the next dry mountain stage before you make predictions. Do you think MVDP would have crashed in Yorkshire in dry weather? Rain changes everything. Just ask Ulrich.bernal looks very, very strong. if it stays this way, the high mountains will absolutely crown him.
remco did amazing when you consider where he is coming from. however, he did only okay in terms of actually competing for overall. depends on whether this is his limit in mountains or whether he will improve steadily throughout the giro. i am concerned it may be somewhere between the two (at best) and he may really show his limits in the high mountains.
Soler always looks on the limit but finished with Dan Martin ahead of the Remco-Yates group.
