A bit sad for Affini, he gave so much so that the break could stay away and still almost had it in the end. But of course De Bondt didn't slack off, chapeau to him.
To me it seems that JV are wasting him a bit in the cladsics by having him do the donkeywork early on. From time to time you could try sending him up the road.

at the risk of a pointless debate there is a non-zero percentage of flat tires that are the riders fault.
And for crashes in the last 3 km - lots are the riders fault
You might be able to blame the rider who crashes, but what about the riders that get taken out by the crash? "Non zero"?! That could be 1% or a 100%, right? I'm not sure how to pointlessly debate such a large range. Stuff on the road (tacks, gravel, goat heads...) could certainly cause flats and crashes.
