I wonder what was wrong with Higuita today. In the end, he didn't really lose time but he never fought for a good position before a finish where he could have won. After his team had reeled in the peloton, probably for him.
He had some strong allergy at Romandie. That's why he was bad at the first stages and won at the end, but I think that's not the problem at this period of the year...

Not sure why Mas is a surprise on such a finish, just look at Vuelta 2021 Stage 11.

Exactly, it's not like Mas didn't have the form in this type of finish before. Still it does augur well for him, perhaps he can challenge for the podium again this year as he had a disappointing showing in the tour.

Van Wilder did great today. Looks like he'll have to forgo his own chances for a bad Alaphilippe again. Where the F were Masnada and Devenyns?

They sadly had a bad day out there, but they are young riders and can still improve.

Carl Frederik Hagen is looking good and might be able to gain IPT some needed points. Pozzovivo only losing 7 seconds is not bad either.

Remco was very bad positionned, don't think i saw him on the screen in the leadup of the sprint.
He was on the front inside the final km, but Alaf wasn't on his wheel so I think he just wasn't sure what to do and sat up.

MAL not too good either today and cant say I am impressed with S Yates
It looked like a potential demolition derby halfway up that climb with guys (especially Roglic) pinballing off each other—so maybe riders like Yates just didn’t want to mix it up at the front even if it cost them some seconds?

Looking at the stage placings it is striking just how much time the QS riders lost today. Maybe it is simply part of an overall strategy to sit up and save some energy for the long haul but they will need to contribute more in the days ahead as Alaphilippe looks off form.

They really need to put Evenepoel in some sort of leader jersey, so people can tell him and Van Wilder apart.
He thought it was Devenyns.

They sadly had a bad day out there, but they are young riders and can still improve.
When young riders have a bad day, i have been informed the most likely explanation is that they are sick.

However, Masnada and Devenyns aren't riders i would call young. So probably not sick, just bad.
