You should add "and-Slow" to your name. Until about 500m to go it's much steeper than that, 10 seconds are almost nothing if one rider still has an acceleration in him and can carry that momentum into the flat/downhill part. Aside from that, your argument does absolutely nothing to support your claim that he "choked" either way.

He clearly lost time to almeida in the final 800meter. He just had nothing left anymore. If with choked is meant that he was running out of steam... he is right. Thomas ran out of steam. No shame in that ofcourse, he did what he did to protect pink. (maybe without the helmet and better pacing the difference would have been a bit closer.. but Roglic riding in a hole also costed time. So I think Thomas in best situation/pacing would still have lost his pink with the advantage he had with what we saw today)

It means running out of steam due to nervousness.

Good interview from Thomas, class is shown when someone loses, like Roglic showed in 2020.

Well done to his fans, I hope Roglic will win The Tour against the other 2, whether he has the level to do it is probably dependent on how injured he really was this Giro and how that may or may not have affected him, but he showed a very high performance today. The idea that Thomas cracked (he didn't) only serves to try and detract from what was a special ride.

What a beautiful stage. What a beautiful performance by Roglic, who seems to have been biding his time to smash this ITT. Risky strategy, but he delivered in a big way. What a ride. When his chain dropped I was appalled. Could not believe it. He was right on pace and then bam! Seeming disaster. Great drama.

No idea how people dislike G. Great guy and great rider who has a 1/2/3 in the Tour and a 2 in the Giro. Pretty good. He beat Almeida by about 20 seconds, earning second on the stage and second in the Giro behind the pre-race favorite. Clearly didn’t choke, just likely saw the trends of the time gaps, dug deep to hold on, and popped while still being well clear of third. Great ride, G. And as someone not too far behind in age, it was great to see.

Wait what, Roglic after riding this Giro doesn't stand a single chance, and is likely not participating.

Next year he is 34, and even with different focus, Vingegaard and Pogacar has to crash out.

Rogla is the most mentally strong rider since Contador. Adversity simply makes him try harder.

I feel badly for Thomas but even he admitted the strongest man won. He seemed amazed Primoz had a mechanical and still put 40 seconds into him. Total class in his interview.
I always knew Primoz was better than 3 Vueltas. 73 wins in such a short career. I fear he'll never get a Tour but such is life. He's a grand racer :)
