I hope and believe they have a plan. I'm just a bit annoyed we probably won't see GC contenders contending for a stage win again. Although is still far from a done deal for the break.
they surely have a plan, but maybe he doesn't have the legs....he seems not at his best and to be conserving for tt. but we never really know and can only guess from experience of watching. i know it hasn't been as exciting as we like but he seems injured/sick, and just recently had surgery so will have to hope for the best. when i said you don't know...neither do i :)

Throw back to the Tre Cime stage in 2007, on the Passo Giau where Julio Perez took the Devils trident behind Ricco and Piepoli, mems

I feel like apart from Pogacar and Vingegaard not a single GC rider wants stage wins anymore. Well, and Landa, but he choses GTs where he gets beaten by one of the 2 then.

Hopefully Egan Bernal will return to top form because I can't see Vingegaard/Pogacar racing the Giro any time soon.

Maybe Simon Yates will come back next year and not end up with some mystery ailment.

Pretty sure Pog will soon. And given how these last two Giros have been ridden I'm pretty sure he'll slaughter everyone.

I get that Jumbo are probably hesitant to make the race hard early as that might not suit Roglic. But they're the only team that still has all riders and they've done feck all to get anyone in the move these last weeks to at least put some pressure on the other GC guys.
And what's worse, they're gifting another stage away to the breakaway. Surely Roglic doesn't care if he finishes 2nd or 3rd? There's no way he drops down to 4th so might as well try to go for bonus seconds? I don't get this at all.

Well, the one stage they did make the race hard and chase the breakaway all day, Roglic got dropped and the bonus seconds went to Thomas and Almeida. So there you have your reason.
