Leknessund again, this time in the descent. doesn't look as wet as the climb.

The break has one descent and one climb left to form, and even then this is now far easier for a GC team to control if they fancy the stage win.

Vanhoucke still the same after his move to DSM. Attacking uphill in the first week (to just be in the grupetto in 2nd and 3rd week) and dropping on the descent.

Him being the first of the peloton on Etna is definitely the most underratedly random thing about the 2020 Giro.

He's always been good in a first unipuerto mountain stage. And then he fades after. For example Catalunya the year after. Or UAE Tour.

And he probably already would've won his first Giro stage if he wasn't as crash prone as he is (He rode a monsterclimb in the stage Schmid won to Montalcino after he crashed and lost more than a minute before the climb).

But his last 1.5 year was horrible. Crashing in literally every GT and being super demotivated. Never went on training camp or anything. Kept training in Flanders thinking it would make him climb better. I think he can get his old level again at DSM, but he will never be a GC rider (even tho he thinks he can).
