I'm not sure how I got a 5 place rise out of an unspectacular score.

Given the dearth of selected sprinters, if there is to be a change at the top, it is likely to be tomorrow.
If we assume that Vingegaard will get 20 (those yellow jersey bonuses are not available on Sunday), then Postman has 25 points to play with.
Hindley and Johannessen are on both those teams, so are effectively irrelevant. So Amis Velo's only real chance of finding the extra 25 points are whatever stage points Vingegaard might get (up to 80) plus the possibility of some extra category points (likely 5 or 10 for green, but potentially 45 if he takes the Polka dots).
For Postman Hat, S Yates, Rodriguez or Gall are the ones likely to have any significant likelihood of change. Decent stage points for any of them wouldn't be a great surprise. Barring big time losses by Adam Yates or Hindley, it's hard to see them gain extra GC points. Gall could do something significant for another 30 points and the win in the KoM jersey, in which classification S Yates could take another 5 points.

I suspect that, if none of Postman Hat's main 3 have a disaster, it would need at least first or second by Vingagaard, and none of S Yates, Rodriguez or Gall in the top 5, for Amis Velo to make the turnover. But is that unthinkable?

Thanks again for a great analysis Armchair. Watching the stage with 30K to go and Gall Hasn't contested the KOM, but at least Vinge won't take it. At the moment it looks like UAE are pacing him up for a stage win though

Once again, it looks like your predictions for the best possible scenarios for my team have come to fruition! Vinge rode conservatively and was then pipped on the line by Gall for second, while Yates came fourth. Hopefully that will be enough, assuming Amis doesn't have a sprinter?

Sprinters who are both still in the race and on form are very few and far between: If Girmay wins, 18-Vale could nab this title by 6 points. But much as it would be a popular result (except perhaps with PH), it does not seem a likely one. We seem to be looking at a double victory.
Because...

Rodriguez losing a place on GC 'should' have been fairly catastrophic for Postman Hat, but the place he lost was taken by another of his riders (S Yates, not on AV's team), so no nett loss.

Standings
If Vingegaard had taken 2nd from Gall in both the mountains classification and the stage, things would have been different.
If Vingegaard had pedalled the last 10 metres, and Bilbao had taken 10 more seconds on Rodriguez, things would have been different.
If the stage result had been as it was with 50 metres left, things would have been different.

But things are as they are, and look very likely to remain so tomorrow.

The shouting that is lacking to follow tomorrow, but the final update will probably be very late, if not Monday morning, as I am out until late.
Luckily, there is not much suspense left.

If you can't wait, and want to work it out for yourself, here's the spreadsheet

Stage 21
And that is that. And thoroughly inconsequential it was too (the last stage, not the entire race)

Green points
For the second time in three days, one rider saves us from the collective ignominy of having a third entirely pointless day

As to standings on the day, if you can't remember whether you have Girmay in your team, it will probably be evident from the rises in position.

Final Green standings

Most of the teams with Girmay get a small boost to their final position.

Yellow points
There was one change in GC position, but that below the top 50, so both riders involved get 20 finisher points regardless. Ciccone's single KoM point doesn't gain him anything here, and Vingegaard's not getting the yellow jersey points on the final stage is partially offset by the fact that green points were cancelled, so he wasn't overtaken by Meeus to lose 5 points.

That's it.

Final standings
Postman Hat completes the Green/Yellow double; Amis Velo recovers from last in the Giro game to be second here, and TRiley who was second in the Giro takes another GT podium. Rote Laterne, who uniquely went for the Evenepoel big spend in the Giro, is the only manager other than our winner to beat any of the five who went big with Vingegaard here.

If I had realised that there was so little to report on in the final update, I could have done it last night.

Thanks to all who joined in, congratulations to Postman Hat and those who shared the higher places in the game with him, and hope to see you all for La Vuelta in about a month's time.

Even though I picked Vingegaard, I'm glad that the win is going to someone that didn't choose him. I just think there's more skill involved in building a team around 4 or 5 GC contenders than just dropping the entire budget on some guy everyone knows is going to finish in the top 2 of the GC.
Agreed, though I like that the game can be balanced between teams that choose the two different tactics.

Vingegaard took yellow fairly early, and so clocked up a large number (300) of those bonuses for his teams: without any yellow bonuses, we would have had this top 13 (to include all the Vingeteams), which I guess proves mainly that the bonuses were the thing that prevented a massive winning margin.

If this is indeed the best possible team, then Postman Hat has 83.6 % of the best possible, which is historically very high.

Red Lobster, the team that more than any other looked focused on the green jersey (Jacobsen, Cavendish, Bauhaus and Sagan) only brings 3 riders to Paris.

Here is the spreadsheet: let us know if you find anything else interesting.

Big congratulations to our winner who achieved it withouthout Vingegaard.
Also thanks to AC and all the other participants, hope to see you and more at the Vuelta game (although I must admit I lost quite some interest for the acutal race after the ITT).

Thanks so much AC for running the game!

Really added to my enjoyment of The Tour this time, when I probably would have lost interest after the TT otherwise. Gall ended up making the difference, doing much better than anticipated in terms of GC, and wasn't expecting so many stage placings from Yates.

Always have teams with a relatively even points distribution in case of misfortune (Carapaz, Cavendish this time), but that policy looks like being challenged by the Vuelta startlist.
