Okay. TdU is a World Tour race. Excellent. Lets get some points on the board. Let me see who i have racing. So, only 6 WT teams in the race. Not much of a world tour race then is it? Thats a let down. I do have one rider racing so I guess I know who I am pulling for

As with the Emerging Riders game, just decided to enter the game this year (my first CQ game) and I'm really looking forward to be more aware of the women's scene because of it.

I'm not as big a follower of women's road cycling as I am of MTB and CX and so I'm not really confident of having a very successful season, but let's go for it!

Snap. Always watch the women's races in the those disciplines first, then the men's if I have the time and interest. But it's the other way round for the road, probably because of the clash of schedules.

I have submitted my team. I decided that since there isn't an Emerging Riders CQ Game for the women, I will try to play both formats with the same team. More or less, but the riders I've picked that don't fit that criteria, most of you would guess anyway.

Without giving too much away, I'll only reveal that I have at least three riders in my team who are of capable speaking French, but I don't have any riders from France.

Honestly, I cant wait for the reveal because it should be very different teams except for only a handful of riders at most.

I can also admit I dont know much about some of the riders I have picked. I really winged it, so someone with a bit more nous when it comes to womens cycling feel free to comment on my team if I have made some good picks or not.

Oh, I have no unique picks. That's kind of surprising for me as I really have no idea of womens cycling and just looked for some young riders which probably have the ability to get better. Thought it was a great idea also to have a look at the last junior world championships but seems like others had the same idea or just knew about the talent of these riders.

Will be interesting for me to follow womens cycling a bit more as till now I only noticed the results of the biggest races.

Van der Hulst is actually not a bad sprinter, but she's probably not going to be Liv's leader in the many races. Rachele Barbieri had a major comeback to road racing last year, and Tereza Neumanová also did well. But with the loss of Alison Jackson to EF-TIBCO-SVB, Van der Hulst might still get more opportunities to shine this year. She's definitely capable of scoring more than 53 CQ points in 2023, but they are more likely to come from non-WWT races.

So it turns out that Pikulik is actually my only singular pick, I didn't expect that.

My main decision was surely to leave out Deignan and Dygert in the end, two riders I just didn't want to find me cheering for during the year. Maybe I will regret this, but emotionally I didn't regret it with Evenepoel in the men's game last year. On the other hand I picked Simmons just for points this year. Well, I guess I'm really inconsistent regarding that like-factor.

Thank god there was an abundance of riders to pick from. Rider I really would have liked to pick, but didn't in the end because she just didn't fit financially: Maike van der Duin.

I was at one point very close to making a huge mistake. A mistake I now see that others have made. Since she didn't achieve her best results in 2022, Chantal van den Broek-Blaak seemed like a pretty good rider to have for the classics, but she is currently pregnant and won't be racing in 2023.

Rufs has quite brilliantly picked Ysland (I also like that Nosková has made it in), but also has both Van den Broek-Blaak and Lisa Brennauer, who retired after last season (and who's also currently pregnant).
