2023 Women's WT CQ Game

Page 5 - Get up to date with the latest news, scores & standings from the Cycling News Community.
Only three riders going, but I like each of them to get me at least some points.

UAE
GEORGI Pfeiffer
KOOL Charlotte
PERSICO Silvia

Two decent sprinters for DSM, and Persico for the GC. As my big money pick, I'm hoping to get lucky and have her improve even more this year. Especially in the one day classics.

Your riders are not all lazy. Two of them won EC medals on the track earlier today while a third finished in the top 10.

Pah! What good does that bring me? It's like Alaphilippe winning the WC for France! Apparently they need some decent public trash posting from me to motivate them!

(van Anrooij and Bäckstedt were also pretty good in cross, but that also doesn't get me any points)

You're beginning to sound an awful lot like your good friend Lefevere. Perhaps you should ask the riders if they want to get traded off to a different player's team.

Reactions: BR2
Seeing as I got no points in the Australian races, feeling better about the UAE Tour. I've got 6 racers and hoping for a good GC finish for Liane Lippert
LIPPERT Liane
Norsgaard Emma
GEORGI Pfeiffer
KOOL Charlotte
BÄCKSTEDT Elynor
FIDANZA Martina

Of the 4 teams that have both Realini and Kool, LS and I also have Harvey, and Samu has Georgi, so my guess (CQ are being rather slow at posting the results) that they will be the top three for this event and that Samu will reclaim the lead. Unless I have missed anyone...

Race 3: UAE Tour
A much wider selection of our riders in this, such that this race accounts for very nearly 2/3 of the points earned so far.

"Race position" on stage races will be the order of point scorers, stage an GC combined. I know that Kool didn't come 5th on GC.

there were another 10 from our selected riders who got more than the minimum 4 points, and 15 who took just those 4.

I had missed Alvarakas having Wiebes when I predicted Samu for top three.

Green points
An extra 7 of us now have a top ten to show, 14 still waiting to get a green point

First, second and fourth so far for Samu on the first three events.

Standings
And having come first, second and fourth, it is little surprise that Samu is top of the leaderboard

The apparent ties are separated by the same criterion as I use on the GT games: omit the top scorer and see what points they have left (I like more egalitarian teams).

Spreadsheet

Next event is the Omloop on Saturday week. Which is, in its male edition, the first event of the (men's) Spring Classics CQ game ; there are only 2 entrants so far, which is a bit worriying but probably just means that I launched it too early. So consider this to be a reminder for it.

Realini and Faulkner pretty much did as well as hoped, although I had thought Faulkner would be the main contributor. Her blowing up in the heat once again is not too promising for my team, seeing as she's my highest scorer from 2022. Dronova would probably have bagged me another 15 to 50 points if she hadn't crashed out.

Nice to see two of the most knowledgeable forum members on women's cycling already in the lead. Putting us dilettantes in our place :)

Forgetting about Charlotte means my team is very unKool. Sorry, had to get that 'joke' out of my system. Was hoping for a better start from Cavalli, but at least Shackley began her season well.

damn nobody cares because it is not part of the game.

Don't be so sure about that:

When I was preparing the spreadsheet (back in October) I think I remember Omloop being part of it: today I jut copied and posted the list from PCS and added the WC without actually looking at the contents. But if Omloop is WWT status, it will be included.

I just gave up listing my riders for the main game after a handful of rounds. So, no listings for me.

I'm sometimes listing my riders when I find the time and I am interested in how they do, and in this case it should be nice with so many potential winners on the startlist (well, not on my team, just in general).

If I remember my team correctly, these should be my riders:
Bäckstedt
Jastrab
Uijen
Reusser
Bossuyt
De Wilde
