One of my favourite smaller races, the race that kick-started my love of the sport, and Germany's biggest one-dayer regardless of what Cyclassics may have tried to make. Stronger field set out for the first WT year, although in reaction to recent years of the race rather too many who look like they'll be out for a sprint. The change of the closing course worked for 2012-13, but the durable sprinters have had their way of late. If raced properly, the likes of Kittel should only be there to appease sponsors, but Degenkolb and Kristoff will be hard to shake off, and the likes of Matthews and Sagan will be there if they're in anything like the right form given the race's position on the tail end of Classics season when a lot of riders are having a rest period. Greipel's been close before even in one of the better raced years (the year Špilak won, I think). The more I look at that startlist, the more I'm worried that there aren't too many gamblers against teams who are clearly all out for the sprint.

Sagan is almost guaranteed to attack. I know he is in a period of the season that is usually a rest period for him but he always shows up with all guns blazing in California which is in just a couple of weeks so he probably isn't too bad. And with bad weather conditions it will be difficult to control.

Matthews might also try something (but we are yet to see him put his intentions of becoming a more aggressive rider into actions).

Matthews will be clearly a much aggressive rider when he punches his handlebars after he comes up short in the finish after a day of following wheels.

A nice race which deserves to be more prestigious. I've always had a soft spot for Eschborn - Frankfurt.

With almost all the big teams going with a sprinter, I expect this year's edition to be ruled by a majority decision. But then again, it's 2017, so you never know.

Well it´s a german site streaming a german race no other country really cares about. So it´s obviously going to streamed in german.

Right 7 still in the break. Lotto NL say break under 3 mins but CCC say 5.40mins but perhaps that's back to their riders :Neutral:
