I must say I didn't see that exact moment (family duties), but I heard GvA saying he just didn't have the legs to close it. Sometime people think riders are lazy, but most of the time the body says no I guess :D
Exactly.

If Wiebes is still somewhere on the road, she will probably get back soon at this pace. It seems SD Worx will go for the sprint now with the Kopecky/Uneken combo again.

What an absolute disaster for QS. Their best finisher was 32nd.

They are very lucky Bagioli won in Catalunya. Even so, really a big drop off in their level

Girmay did a really good sprint. They say it was a headwind, so while it's easy to say e.g. Laporte could have anticipated better, it could also be that Laporte (and others) just didn't have that long of a sprint in them.
In that case you just hope to catch the wheel, accelerate in the draft and hope the guy in front of you will fade.
Girmay didn't fade.
To me, Laporte seemed like the strongest in the group. But after seeing him treating the Flame Rouge as it was the finish line and and subsequently take the lead for the remaining 1 km in a headwind sprint.. I'm not sure I want to see him winning races again.

You would think that Laporte is 20 and Girmay is 30, not the other way around.

Impressive victory for Girmay, it's a breakthrough moment for him and the whole continent. He has a promising future ahead.

Unbeatable these days.
Surprised the teams went for the sprint with her in contention.
Congrats.

She is crazy good. Her positioning was great and she was tough when she needed to be. It was a strong team effort.
