Really good from Higuita to hold on to second, I'm impressed.

Nice and strong from G, looks like he's at a good level for the Tour.

Martinez showing a bit of life too.

Maybe look up some previous results. When Küng finishes ahead of Evenepoel in a TT, it's by few seconds. The other way around it's by minutes.

Küng is one the Top 5 TTer in the World. Thomas in form is close to it (in Stage Races). Complaining about winning the TT not with enough time against this competition is simply stupid.

Martinez really impressed me in the last stages of the Tour de Suisse. He could get to top form until the Tour and then he could play a role in the mountains. Thomas should be the better bet on this parcours for the GC but Ineos not as bad as I thought.

Schachmann also comes into form. He was a really could TTer but had really bad luck the last few years. Jungels also showing some form of the old days. I don't buy the commentators hype for the tour i bet he will be very anonymous there in support of O'Connor, but great for the team having at least some mountain support. The time trial of Higuita and Guglsang really suprised me I thought Küng could overtake them. In the end it was 10 km to short and after 2 big mountain stages where everyone showed their best the climbers could do better than expected.

The only one i see complaining is you. I was simply stating it was not a top form performance by him. I think that's as close to a factual opinion as you'll get on this forum.

He's got a bit more likeable in the past few months as well after that kickoff in Algarve, someone's either had a word or he's just caught on I think but he seems a lot more relaxed.

i agree. I think there was a lot of stress caused by not getting back to what he thought was his true form, and not being able to perform as he wanted after the long recovery from the crash. Probably led to bad actions like the awful shove at Brabantse Pijl, etc. my hope is that with LBL there has been a release. He may never win a GT but at least he knows that on any given day he may be able to put in an exploit.

at least that is my hope. It is always a fine line between someone who is a real competitor and them being able to remain likable. I, for one, have never liked the part of Remco when he brushed off his shoulder or any of that stuff.

Evenepoel looks like he's been doing a few dumbell curls, decent upper body mass for a cyclist to be fair to the lad and not bad for the time trials, gotta look decent for the girls in your adolescence I understand but he might want to lose a bit of that for the big climbs.

It's obviously not a priority. Same for him being so comfortable at QS - a non-GT GC centric team till this day.

Evenepoel is definitely not a rider who is 100% committed to becoming a GT specialist. Which is fine.
