I just checked. Based on the Velopro live ticker, it's been Hirschi's 7th bike change in this race (+gearing problems in the first sprint)
It totally seemed like he was getting a lot of mechanicals. Holy crap!I just checked. Based on the Velopro live ticker, it's been Hirschi's 7th bike change in this race (+gearing problems in the first sprint)
While I agree, I believe a lot of teams don't want to take the risk of letting riders continue riding when having COVID. They don't want the next Colbrelli to be on their team. Lefevere for example said after that incident that their riders get put on non-actif and get screened when testing positive.UCI needs to consider COVID to be an endemic virus and not require withdrawals just because a rider tests positive
Or else, we'll end up with someone like Pogacar being forced to withdraw from a guaranteed win at the TDF
Not possible to keep a COVID-positive rider in the race under French, or indeed most countries' isolation rules. And teams are already permitted to stay in the race if they have a limited number of positive tests.UCI needs to consider COVID to be an endemic virus and not require withdrawals just because a rider tests positive
Or else, we'll end up with someone like Pogacar being forced to withdraw from a guaranteed win at the TDF
all caused by the electronic gear-shifting system, if I got that right. Any idea if he is the only one using that (or an updated version of it)?It totally seemed like he was getting a lot of mechanicals. Holy crap!
Yes.Can we please keep the discussion on the effects of Covid and vaccines out of this thread?
Yes please. There is a forum for public issues and politics and it's not here. Can we please keep the discussion on the effects of Covid and vaccines out of this thread?
GTs should have 1 stage like this in every race. This is basically a HARD version of LBL
lol, they should have 7-8 of them.lol. they should have 3-4 of them.
This might become PN 2.0The field is still quite big.
I am fearing more DNS tomorrow from riders dropped this early.
I think 1 hard version of LBL is enough for a GT. Plus a stage like Paris-Roubaix, then TTs and high mountains. Make the winner be a true all arounder, not a 1 dimensional climber like they are often these days
Looks like Vervaekeremco re-placing himself nearer the front.
who is the teammate guiding him?
