Just to let you know, we're going to move the ads further down so they're not under the first post on each page.

Also, we're going through and taking out 'offensive' 'soft-porn' 'mile-high', 'bikini-babe' ads individually.

Thanks for your patience.

Daniel

So Daniel - anything actually happening with this?

This was posted on 16th January .... and I still seem to see the ads under the first post.

Nice to see exactly how FP views the forum

I'm afraid I have to agree with AG , Daniel. Either this is kinda on your 'ignore for now' list to see if it blows away , or FP is not going to give a ding about it and keep the ads in the same place.

Why is it so difficult to have even a simple 'customer service' automaton from FP issue a statement? Just total ignore....

Well I think its better of Dan's time to work on the main site as in getting better stories and interviews than work on removing ads which provide the site with more money for stories and interviews (as in getting them there to the race).

The rest have managed to fix things with ad-blockers and what is keeping the rest from doing that is beyond me. The solution is out there and has been there since before the site even existed.

No amount of nagging is going to change that anytime soon or in before the main sites content or priorities.

(and I don't even work for them)

Think i have an inbuilt ad blocker. do not even see them any more.

Dont get me wrong El C - I have blocked the images .... I dont want to see that.

But - I go on a number of different forums, and as the ads are what pays for those, I dont want to use an adblocker.

However - if something is not done fairly soon, I will simply instal an adblock on another browser, and use that for CN only .... CN will lose out of it though, as then I wont click on any other ad that I do often click on now ...

exactly, that's what i do, view CN on firefox with ad block and other blocking to remove said ads then view other forums on safari

Yes, I have firefox with adblock and just see pleasant white space, although I really didn't mind most of the cycling ads.

That is not my point , and El C, it seems that you are just playing devil's advocate through some of your comments lately.

Wouldn't it be nice and show a bit of respect if something that was so important to so many forum members was at least commented on by a person of authority from FP?

I didn't have a problem with the ads at the side and bottom. Problem arose when FP started taking the pi$$.

Yeah, but faceless internet forum owners rarely comment in a truthful manner. It is one thing to say something in person another to actually write it down. But an apology would've been honest.

Still gonna run firefox for the time though just for CN. See what happens in the attitude and if Dim's site get's up and running.

...yes, given the circumstances, a new playground....errr...site sounds like the winning move...because the chances of things changing here are pretty remote....

Don't you mean the bottom left? That dude sure is putting some effort into the man-groin hand-thrust.

Seems the other guy should be wincing (and maybe he is off camera).

Well there you go a solution to a problem.

Not playing anything other than letting everyone know that the powers that be setup the sand box and I doubt they're changing the sand anytime soon and no amount of un-occupying is going to change that. Those on here managing the board have no control over the software so there is no way that's going to change. I'm still surprised by the amount of people who expect things to change for them when the site is for free. Maybe if people offered to pay or sent the owners of the site some lump sums I would think it would change ASAP. But to date I have not read of anyone wanting to do that, odd...

it's a tough call, it depends on which one i've clicked on last

I usually don't click on them, but I vote for Brooklyn Decker. Sheesh.

What is tempting to me is on the right hand portion of the website tonight some hot chick wanted to chat with me, and she lived 2.8 miles from me. That made me extremely wary, so I passed and went and turned on the golf network.

I used to get those. What gave it away was that we lived in a completely inbred village full of fat people who ate every night from the chip shop.

Yet i kept seeing pictures of hot blondes that apparently lived in the village..
