I am sorry but that is a load of bs. Irrelevant if Hawks lead all day, Collingwood deserved just as much especially the way the fought back in that last quarter especially being down by 3 goals. It is a 4qtr game. Not a 3 qtr game.

I don't feel remotely sorry for the Hawks. If Collingwood had lost, imagine all the **** the media and the general public would of given Collingwood, Eddie, Malthouse, etc.

Seeing Malthouse crying was an amazing sight. I am shocked that we won that.

they just missed their chances and failed to bury collingwood before 3 qtr time. In the last qtr pies were fitter and ran over them, amazing performance by cloak got them over the line. BUT good teams take their opportunities. pies are very lucky to make it thru that one alive.

hawks were the better team as a whole but they couldn't not run the game out therefore they do not deserve to win the game. I never said Pies were better than Hawks. We are going to have to play much better next sunday to win the cup.

Speaking as a pies fan, I think that its quite understandable that the Hawks will be gutted tonight. They outplayed the pies for basically 3.5 quarters and it was a coin toss in the remaining half quarter. I think it is garbage to say that the pies were stronger than the Hawks over time or anything like that. With one straight kick being the difference, its just a matter of a couple of points early in the game. Yes the pies came back near the end but it was only 3 goals in a low scoring game.

Hawks can hold their heads high (in a few days when they get over the pain of missing out) and the Pies should be sitting in the rooms wondering what the hell happened to their strong side...

tbh it hasn't been a very exciting game. Has lacked intensity. Stevie Johnson has done his knee so he'll be out for the GF. Billy Brown/brainless will be having an epileptic fit after seeing Stevie J being carried out on a strecher.

couldn't take any marks, and the forwards were constantly out-muscled, not to mention the poor disposal rate in the midfield, at times it was just a kick and hope really.

Waters and Nic Nat were good for us. That was about it.

dunno who i prefer to win the final, really upset that hawks didn't make it. I like them (if i had to pick a 2nd team it would be them).

Got a lot of bomber and blues friends, so I think a pies victory would annoy them greatly and thus go pies

a little dissapointed, but I wasn't surprised by the result. Felt we played above what I expected in the 1st half. Dropped away in the 2nd. Going into the finals series, things hadn't really gone our way. Form was fading, Geelong was getting better and better. Best team won. Congrats Geelong. Collingwood have a good enough team to be around the top for the next 3 or 4 years. Is it just a coincidence that in 1999, Essendon won 21 games out of 22 in the home and away season to be knocked out in the prelim?

Little bit gutted for Mick, would of been nice to see him go out with a flag but c'est la vie. Don't feel so bad as we won the flag last year and there are plenty of teams who haven't had success for ages. Life goes on.

I went to Gosch's paddock where I sat in the rain all day on a wet oval in freezing cold conditions. Not a fun day tbh.

I am a Carlton fan, but I was gutted for Sydney. Desperately wanted them to win for Jarrod McVeigh's sake (his newborn daughter died about a month ago from a congenital heart condition ... so incredibly sad)
