a little weak but not a bad day, you can't win every MTF
Giro 2011:
Val di fassa and finestre stages
Yes, this indeed is a bad day for him
tour de france 2012: peyragurdes stage
knee injury

Remember that he took all his time on the main rivals on the part that suited him the most: the first half, with the corners and tricky descents. Wiggins absolutely killed him in the rest, Scarponi, Evans, and Gesink were equal or slightly better than him.
He certainly looks the most focused.
Dekker_Tifosi said:yeah he limits his losses well. Nibali on a bad day loses 30 seconds maybe.
It costs energy, of course it does. But as Gazzetta estimated, Nibali gained about 2 seconds in every corner to Wiggo in the first part. That's no extra energy spent, maybe even less because you don't need to accelerate after every corner.maxmartin said:riding fast in the first half also cost energy, you can't just simply break the course into each part then compare them

But i think this is a stronger Nibali than before.
Maybe. But better cornering is just what it is: better cornering. No extra energy spent.Netserk said:Unlike very technical descenders like Canc and Sagan, Nibali spend quite some energy descending.
