Wow well this has gotten out of hand, apologies for any off topic contributions I have made.....let's all return to discussing Alberto as a cyclist. Yes he's a nice looking cyclist but I love him for his Talent, Courage and Legs on the Bike!

I do appreciate the occasional photo and vid though so hope those are allowed to be posted.

No, Susan asked LaFlorecita to create the thread, not the other way around, then Susan or some other mod changed the title as this is not LaForecita's initial intent at "her" thread.

If LaFlorecita cannot talk about the thread title's subject then why are not most of the other threads equally policed?

She got banned for 1 day, dont know if thats what you meant by "a while", and i have no idea what she was banned for but judging by the fact that she was outraged and many people defended her on the moderators thread, im guessing it was more trivial than " due to ignoring the many warnings she had been given for off-topic posting". Might be wrong on that count though.

Hm strange, I seem to remember Susan told me to start my very own I Love Alberto thread (see first post) and that's what I did. I never asked her for this thread.

The only time I got banned was after stage 6 of la vuelta, maybe you see that as "around that time"

I got banned for emotional outbursts and that was 3 months after the start of this thread.

The threads subject now is discussion about Contador, it is no longer suppose to be a place for people to post about how much they love him. And none of the other threads have gotten as out of hand as this one.

I love this forum because of all the polemic it generates. You should be ready to deal with trolls, fanboys, haters, experts, .... That's what a forum is.

Yeah, but like every forum it has its rules. Turn the clock back to the first week of La Vuelta and every discussion you tried to have was washed away in a flood of tears spamming the whole place up and down when actual poster were in a state of depression of the riders performance. And add to that equal many spamming posts about how little the poster belived in h*s rider (Arrate somebody?). Every thread became a private therapy-session with constant repeats during the next stage when the preferred rider did not won by 10minutes. I have never seen such bull**** ever on a forum.

It's not real life and "she" might not speak English properly and some of its subtle nuances could be a bit blurred for her, semantically speaking, obviously. Hence her language slips.

500 oneliners (with textsize in Empire state building format) page up and down and equal many smilies when confronted with the latest "Contador is the new Justin Bieber" video is not language slip. If you dont put the foot down will this nonsense escalate and the actual thread die out. And i dont want to think about how much negativity towards the rider himself has been fueled due to this crap.

If a thread goes as far into fan-ism as this one has then yes, it should be policed as much. I can't remember a thread that has gone so far into fan-ism as this one has, of course I haven't been here as long as you.

I don't think the issue is the thread but the singling out of a forum-ite.

Like Parrulo said, this is a cycling forum to discuss all things cycling, not to post pictures of Contador in his underwear and for people to talk about how good looking he is. You can't have any dialogue as it clogs the thread and no one can get a proper conversation going on his abilities as a rider. Remember there can be no doping talk in this thread so none of that can be brought up here. There are plenty of discussion threads on other riders like Gesink, Rodriguez, Sanchez, Cavendish and Wiggins for example but none of the discussion stoops to the level of what goes on around here. I started a discussion thread on Pinot and it was'nt for the type of stuff that we see in here, I can assure you.

Oh there's tons pictures of pro cyclist in all shades of dress on this forum and there hasn't been a problem with it till now.

If they truly don't want LaForecita around then just kill her account and be done with it, this BS about ticky tacky posts is just going to blow up in their face in the long run because if you look at any post under the microscope then 90% don't belong on the forum if its truly just about cycling and not just fans having a good time around cycling. There are degree's and many posters go the distance on that so as long as its about a cyclist is on topic.

This thread indeed started out as the "I Love Alberto Thread" (or to that effect) and the mods saw it in their infinite wisdom to instead change it to what it is now after a plethora of I love posts already done. Again, that was at the request of a mod so now we have a mod who'd idea this thread was based on and a mod(s) who decided it was not right (and they were told it would blow up on them), and now yet another mod who doesn't like it where its going now.

Something seems seems to reoccur in that paragraph...

What next, no more rider specific threads or team specific threads

The irony of it all, makes me wonder if they read the title at the top.
