Rai did an interview with Contador where he at the usual question "when will you ride Giro?" he answered with a surely in the future but not sure its gonna happen in 2013.
More interestingly he said that he will ride many more races in Italy next year.

What is his best result(s) in a major one day race?

3rd in FW :) But yeah he's just not good enough in one day races... but I think everyone would agree  when I say he deserves one

I think he should, realistically, focus on the time trials for that to happen. You dont know what happens with your opposition and on his day, he is up there with the best.

He can forget about the road race though. This since the organisers guarantees parcours not over 300 meters over sea level each year, so that their prefered medals are handed out.

Yeah that is my point :( He could become tt champion in 2014 if it doesn't get cancelled :) :( Climbers should have a realistic chance to become WC too!

I wonder if that is just that he does not train for them or he just is not built for them. Andy Schleck is (until these year) pretty decent around the Ardennes classics but then he does try to peak for them.

I don't know. He mostly doesn't care about them, maybe because he knows he doesn't have a chance, or maybe because of his allergy. I do think that the climbs are just a bit too short and explosive for him.

No need to read anything into Albertos performance today. While i dont think he could have won i am sure he was not in the best shape either. He worked pretty hard the last 10 km (the very few in the spanish team who did btw) and this wouldnt have happened if he "had" it.

He performed better at the Segovia stage, which was very similar with today.

Next year has a 4.6km climb in the circuit, could be a decent chance, and then there's Ponferrada if that goes ahead..

I can see him getting a Worlds win before he retires anyway.

Yeah but it is 10 km from the top of the climb to the finish, and the first 3 km of the climb isn't very hard (but maybe it will be hard after 9 laps)

No it is a big disappointment :( and it might get cancelled :(

Come on now. We have talked about this. No need to go ahead of time and predict it will get cancelled before anything has been sorted out. This is the source of your mood tantrums.

Positive thinking. Positive thinking.

2013 and 2014, if it's in Ponferrada should be suitable to him.

If he really wants to win Worlds' he should take the Ardennes classics seriously and also focus on the Worlds'.

He will also have to convince the other Spaniards to work for him.

This doesn't seem to be something for him
