just curious, what is ACs track record on short prologues?
In his best years he did very well, even won some prologues, but in recent years he hasn't been as good

meh.. ITT. Luckily Froome isn't there. He'll be starting on the back foot again. The real mountain is only one stage. Dumoulin, Thomas can hang on the other one.

He said that in the first part of prologue he was slow because roads had cobbles
Talking about his performance, Alberto said, "I felt in good form. In the first part, the prologue had a lot of cobbles and in that sense, I wanted to make sure I stayed out of trouble, so I took my hands off the extensions as well as in most of the curves. I am happy because when I had to accelerate, my legs were responding well.”

15s behind Dumoulin, 10s behind Izagirre, 9s behind Thomas, 7s behind Porte. What do you guys think?

I'm slightly disappointed, was hoping for better. Heck didn't Majka have a better time?

He's still in the running.

well, majka should have been. His goal is in the Giro in few months. He always sucks at ITT. But today, he was good for his standard.

I did not see the race, so about what he said ... it's true? It was so complicated the first part?

I didn't see the cobbles but I'm sure he wouldn't make them up :p

Actually the ITT suited him pretty well with a short steep ramp halfway through, just look at the average speed :) and he's won prologues before ;) I agree it wasn't too bad, but I am wondering if he has lost some power while losing weight.
Hopefully he doesn't lose any time tomorrow, else it's over. I doubt he can take more than 10s on Brouilly, remember that on Malhao he was ahead of the favorites' group when he attacked.

What do you mean he was ahead when he attacked? Did they let him go, or couldn't they go with him? The video I seen wasn't great but he looked strong

Expected a bit better after actually seeing the course... I would be satsfied with the time around Porte. Being behind Majka is... well, not anything to write home about. But as long as he is good in the mountains, no problem. In the Tour, the TTs are quite late on in the race, which plays into Alberto's hands. He did do a terrible TT as well in 2014 Tirreno, where he was even behind Quintana on a flat course. So no panic yet, but I would be more at ease if he finished inside the top 10.

I didn't see the race and a little disappointed. We'll see.

Thanks, Carols. Bit late for me I'm afraid.

Enjoy the season, all.

He had no incentive to go all out in that TT as he would have won with a tricycle, we all know what happened in Pais Vasco when he cared about performing.

The best is always dont crash, anyway to win paris Niza he has 3 rivals in front of him, Domoulin, Porte and Thomas, and it wont be easy to take that little time. He need a day like in Malhao, but this climbs are not bad for his rivals as well.

Uran attacked, Contador followed. Zakarin and Antunes tried to follow, I don't know if others tried too. Then Uran tried to force Contador onto the front and Contador attacked :) what I mean is that at that point, they already had a gap on the group, so we don't know how much he could have taken had he attacked from the group :) his time and watts were out of this world either way but I'm still a bit hesitant about that performance.

That was a very different TT though.

Not too bad, he didn't force it at the start. He feels good and look in shape. And I'm still counting on madone d'utelle ;)

He'll improve his TT throughout the season, I'm sure of that.

He almost always delivers in ITTs when it matters most.

Thanks for earlier reply.

What do you all think the time gaps will be in TT's at TDF. I know Froome is strongest but both TT's, especially the last one have climbs in them.
