Just like I haven't seen Froome dropping on-form Contador yet.

BlurryVII said:I'd hate seeing him targetting the Tour every year, I love 3rd option, but my point was: he needs to make sure (which means maximize his odds) to win the Tour alone just one more time and then go for doubles.
Not go for crazy *** doubles while he hasn't won the Tour for 4 years .
ferryman said:Oh, I did, every stage.
But, erm, you obviously have me wrong. I think Contador will easily win the Giro, it's how he does it that I've been posting about. What I really hope, is he does so in a way that he can be fresh enough to compete with Quintana and Nibali in July.
contador977 said:No thats not accurate. Anything post Stage 2 at the Dauphine doesnt mean anything. U must weigh the Crashes.
From the same creators of "Nibali won the 2014 Tour because the competition was too weak" comes "Contador should try and win the 2015 Giro since the competition is too weak"LaFlorecita said:Better a 99% sure Giro win and a 40% chance for the TDF, than a 50% for the Tour and nothing else.

So if was Red Rick or Miburo who said that? Okay here we go again => From the same creators of "Nibali didn't deserve to have won the 2014 Tour because the competition was too weak" comes "Contador should try and win the 2015 Giro even though the competition is too weak"LaFlorecita said:LOL no.
try again
Don't preach to the converted.peloton said:The competition was weak, but it takes absolutely nothing away from Nibali's win, not his fault others crashed out. Best man won, very simple.

Hope you're satisfied now.![]()
Talk to Vino and have him make Aru be Nibali's domestique if you want him to do the Giro. Nibali's always game when it comes to doing the Giro.LaFlorecita said:Don't forget Nibali was planning on riding until Alberto announced he was going for the double![]()

I won't 'cause I want Nibali to defend his Tour title. However, I want Contador to skip the Giro so he has no excuses. That's all I care.LaFlorecita said:Why don't you? I don't give a **** about Nibali.
Sorry, I thought it was you. LaFlor already admitted to it.Red Rick said:Cineteq, I never said Nibali wasn't a worthy winner. He was by far the strongest man left. I said he beat a crap field and I never blamed the guy for choosing to ride the Tour or the others crashing out
Its simply a good choice choosing to try the double when you know you're facing weak opposition in the Giro.

ferryman said:Robert Millar won the Dauphine for FFS. It means nothing. Weighing up the crashes means fook all also. Clean slate (but hardly, given Contador broke his leg over a wrist break FFS) and there was a CLEAR AND EASY WINNER IN THE VUELTA. Class always tells in the end. I hate using bolds to get the message across but sometimes it seems it needs to be done.
It doesn't mean your man is a bad rider, just not the best. Enjoy him, and enjoy the best. We all do similar with our favourite football teams. I'll be Hearts till I die, but they ain't and never will be a, Bayern/Barca/Madrid..I can live with that..
contador977 said:As far as Im concerned your watching a different sport. Probably the Tour of Condescension.

Electress said:I can totally understand that after last year AC has little desire to focus on the Tour alone. It's not like he gets a lot of love there. He has done pretty much everything, he has a few good years left. So why not try and tick off some of the remaining 'may well be impossible' feats? The desire to win yet another GT can't motivate him the same way it did at the beginning. I think he thrives on the challenge of adversity like the situation at the Vuelta.
I love him for doing this stuff. He laid down a challenge that no one else wants to join in with. Why back away from something he wants to do just because it isn't anyone else's priority? I happen to think he has a real shot and will happily place a bet on him.
Fact is, for all some people go on about AC needing / wanting to beat Froome to show someone something (I'm not quite sure who or what), it is really vice versa. He's the guy with the cabinet full of trophies. It is Froome and others who needs to beat an in-form Contador to prove something. AC can do whatever he wants over the next couple of years, and I'm pretty sure history will prove that all these guys are minnows in comparison to what he's achieved already.
