He needs to be at his very best to defend over 55,5k flat and straight tt against Wiggo in top form.
Also, Wiggo at his best won't lose hours on climbs (not even if Contador is also at his best).
We're in new era now. Era of Sky's "marginal gains" and Contador's reasonable time trials.
All the answers you're searching for are here, my dear: http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showpost.php?p=1113202&postcount=4629LaFlorecita said:and Alberto won't lose hours in the tt. so we still know nothing. Alberto could lose 3-4 minutes in the tt and could win 5 minutes in the mountains. maybe.
did you see what happened with sky's "marginal gains" in la vuelta? and don't hit me with the - froome was in bad form argument, because Alberto wasn't great either. I'd say froome was at 90% and Alberto at 95%
and what is this new era you're talking about and when did it start? what about Alberto's time trials in il giro and le tour in 2011? were they "reasonable" or was it a different era?

I'm being serious.
serfla said:You can forget the 2011 Giro and take a look at Vuelta 2012. Yes, he won it, but far from the fashion we've expected.
Contador has never raced against Wiggo and Sky when they're targeting a race. So, every conclusion is unfounded and pure wishful thinking.
P.S.
Era of Contador's reasonable tts has nothing to do with suspension. It started earlier... About when he realized he overdone it by beating Cancellara.
You can remind of latest World's tt too. That's, more or less, it.

Poor Nibs & Wiggo if he decides to go ..... damn![]()

Are we talking here about Contador at his best or at his 90 - 95%.Miburo said:Contador was at his possible best in the vuelta? I don't think i need to discuss this any further if you truly believe that![]()
IMO Contador was between 95-100% at the end of 2012 Vuelta. If he had been at 90% he would've lost.Cimber said:At the Vuelta 2012 Contador was maybe at 90%. He had barely raced for a whole year before the Vuelta. That said I dont think he should do the Giro this year. All in on the Tour.

How about 2010 Tour tts? Don't tell me he was off form, 'cause you're considering he won that race.
And don't forget that we're talking about 90 - 95% Contador. Not 100%, not 2009. or 2011.. Long, flat tts and 100% Wiggo.
He'll be waving just like he did in Valkenburg.

You're very childish fan. It was you who set the parameters, and now you're disregarding them.
You don't have to know him to be in love.LaFlorecita said:I am not in love. I don't even know Alberto
Don't be rude and falsify my arguments.LaFlorecita said:90-95%. You seem to think he was at his best though
Right, he caught Purito off guard, but still he needed to perform with 50km to go. Thus he was close to 100%.LaFlorecita said:he almost lost you know. he just caught jrod off guard. He was smarter than jrod and broke him.
