Uff. Watching the replays again and finally being able to recognise Contador, that was a ****ing hard crash. Very lucky to escape without more serious injuries. The next couple days are going to be rough for him though.

I also mistaked of riders, the guy i thought was AC was Bennati.

Thanks laflo. This crash was real hard, he should be very lucky he only has this 'damage'. It could have been way worse.

Very hard crash for Contador. Heal well. Hopefully he’s got the bad luck out of the way and now everything will come together for him.

Good work Flo, he went down harder than I thought. Hope everything will be good with him by Ax-3 at least, we need a healthy Contador to destroy the borgs.

Tour should open up with a hard medium mountain stage, easy to get the jitters out of the way. Has this been ever done in recent Tour history?

Since when is an hill top finish a medium mountain stage?

you saw this , right?

I know it's nothing but it's the best we've had in the last 10 years for the first stage unless you count the first real stage of last year's tour.

Yes, and? A flat stage with an easy hill top finish is nothing but a glorified sprint stage. The only gaps created on that stage were created by crashes and not hard racing. A minute between first and last wouldn't make any difference and the peloton would still be riding very nervously. Hell even with all the gaps created by the crashes the peloton still rode nervously back in 2011.

What Maxmartin asked is if the tour has started with a proper medium mountain stage in the recent past. By medium mountain stage he meant something like LBL or many of the first week stages of this years giro, and i can't think of any time that has happened.

Incredible the injuries are only 'superficial'. AC had a really hard crash.

I am afraid AC don't want to give away too much information about this hard crash in case his opponents have some bad ideas.:( Hope he can recover in full strength soon.

At least he now has an excuse in case he doesn’t win.

Sadly neither Froome fans, Cotador fans nor neutral fans wants that. They would all prefer that "their" rider won straight up without help from crashes to their rivals.

I rooted for Nibali in the Giro but was very sad that Wiggo crashed and later also got sick. Would have preferred Nibali to crush a fit Wiggins.

Watching the crash if AC is the Saxo rider who I think he is he has nothing;)

"He" was slowing down and "jump/fall" into another rider. Playing an injury is always a nice card.

I don't "think" he is the rider some you said

I dont understand your post... in your sign you are supporting Contador but in your post you are saying that he is not the rider that most of us think he is in a bad way... dont know is so confusing...

Fixed for you haha

In 2011 He never played the injury card even when his knee was totally messed up... He is not going to do it now... even an injured Contador will try to make the race hard.. He is that kind of guy He never gives up...
