Vuelta even starts before the MTB event in Rio.

There must be something Tinkoff knows that we don't or he just had minimal confidence in Bertie overcoming Froome/Sky. On the contrary, Sky came with a single mind and purpose to TDF, even the flat guys selected were selected to guard Froome on the flats.
I hope Bertie gets that single TDF purpose at Trek. Its very important for success in today's TDF.

Bolded guys should not be there for Contador sake. They may not be loyal.Jakub said:So, Vuelta team. Any ideas? The last GT with the weak Tinkoff team. Unfortunately the race starts with TTT.
For the mountains there's not much left:
Roman Kreuziger is sure, he said he would ride Vuelta
Jesper Hansen and Robert Kiserlovski come into mind. No idea what's with Trofimov. Pawel Poljanski could be there. All in all it is tragic.
For flat I HOPE Sagan is not gonna be there. For the christ sake. Bennati.Bodnar must be included because of TTT, Boaro too. Valgren if recovered, maybe Blythe...
I am expecting Sergio to return, and I hope Jay McCarthey will find a good form and be there.
So something like this:
Alberto Contador
Roman Kreuziger
Daniele Bennati
Maciej Bodnar
Manuelle Boaro
Pawel Poljanski/Jay McCarthey
Jesper Hansen
Trofimov/Kiserlovski/Rovny
Sergio Paulinho/Michael Valgren

Besides who gives a ****. He can have 8 novals, he's still gonna win the race

8 Novals equals 4 minutes lost on the first stage
free world is great but for some uncertain reason it сreates only daydream scenarios. AC doesn't need a team at all, AC would've smoked Froome yesterday, AC would've easily stuck to Froome's wheel on Ventoux 100 times from 100...for a start we just need to see if he's got enough to win the Vuelta.Miburo said:Valv.Piti said:Miburo said:What did trofimov and rovny do?

I just think he's wondering where the ~30 second time loss per Noval comes from. Was he there in the 2009 Tour? Or some PN stage in the same year?Valv.Piti said:Miburo said:Valv.Piti said:Miburo said:What did trofimov and rovny do?

So he is winning with +4 minutes, I assume?

Well luckily for him there is basically no stage where you can attack well before the mtf. I mean seriously, there is one stage with no flat between the penultimate climb and the last one, which is on stage 20, and there the penultimate climb is only 2nd category. Meanwhile the only stage where the last climb is actually difficult is the one in France but unfortunately there will be a flat section between the last two climbs. Of course anything can happen but this time I'm more sure than in any other gt I've ever seen that it won't be decided by a long range attack.Red Rick said:He doesn't need a team if he takes red early and the competition does nothing but wait for MTF's. That's what happened in 2014. It is a big IF though. He better have somewhat of a team. Though most stages are so back loaded it's unlikely for much to happen before final climbs.
I'd assume so, though Jésus isn't the most reliable domestique. I remember him suddenly climb well on the Ancares when he wasn't needed anymoreLexman said:won't Hernandez be part of the Vuelta Team?

I don't know about 2014, hard to tell how strong he was, and regardless I don't think he would have been capable of taking back 2.5 minutes from Nibali.buchanan said:Hugo Koblet said:Agree with Miburo. Yes it's a pity we're not in 2009 anymore. Or maybe 2011. Or perhaps 2014, but with no crashes.![]()
But don't worry too much - apparently the 2016 virtual Alberto Contador is still participating in this current Tour, has won every key stage, and is going to be the overall winner in Paris by at least 15 minutes.
