And my point is that Contador doesn't look good in the jersey.

I'm not sure what's hard to understand about that one :D

IMO it's the jersey the ruins it all. It's really not an attractive design. Charlize Theron couldn't make that jersey look good....well she probably could but it would take a phenomenal beauty like her to dress it up. Contador usually makes most kits look better but I believe the blandness of the Trek kit is a challenge that even he can't meet.

Thanks for a reasonable response.

Yea it just looks terrible

You're welcome but don't be too hasty with the niceties! I have to disagree with you on Contador's options other than Trek. I can't imagine another team that would have supplied him with the supporting cast to compete with the might of Movistar and Sky. With Cancellara stepping away from the sport Trek needed a big name, they had that opening in their budget without having to sacrifice anyone from their lineup from 2016.

...but are he and Vino on good terms? Wasn't there some bad blood there at some point? That was why I had ruled Astana out as an option. Other than them what other team(s) would have been a better and more viable option than Trek?

Re:

He chose a team with a jersey that he knew he would look horrible in, in order to give him EVEN more incentive to put on YELLOW come July :D

I don't know if Astana had the money to afford Contador. Their budget has been cut down.

He does really seem more happy. It shows in all the recent pictures, and the always adorngly lame videos he puts out.

I also happen to like the kit.

Obviously setting realistic season goals like getting a random top 5 spot at the Tour makes him more happy than recurrent failing to become as legendary as Pantani nowadays.

Time's changing you after all.

The jersey looks less hideous when you can't see the black stomach. And yeah, he really does look older.

I don't know about all the fuzz about the Trek-jersey being ugly, it looks fine to me.

Lets wait and see how he performs against Valverde in Andalucía. The 3 first stages are very hard so he should be able to beat Valverde considering his little crash in January.

Sorry, I'm probably just not reading right, but want to clarify....Valverde crashed or AC?

I go back and watch races from his glory days off and on (the best way to cope with his declining form)....he's been looking older for a couple years.
