DNF today from Dauphine... I am starting to lose hope that he will ever be at the top again. It's also a strange schedual he have had this year. DNF almost every race.

pretty big news...it seems that kash is very mad at lampre for not getting a spot in le tour, even his contract with them should have guaranteed him le tour.but it wasn't to be.i reckon his form didn't help at all.
but the biggest story:it's more than likely that he will finally come back at astana from next year.99%.
he will fight in la vuelta with lampre though.

whether he's a team manager of team rider. he will never get kash back because there's alot of heat between them that doesn't change with vino retiring from cycling and vino has stated he will do at least 2 more years.

Vino not retiring? Sweet.

They'll probably put this behind them. I'm curious as to why Vino is so upset about Kash anyway...

That header smells like the USSR !

Think he might be doing Volta and Vuelta again.

Looks like he's this year's Juanjó Cobo.
Juanjo Cobo is this year's Juanjo Cobo. He just had two fluke days back in February, but now he's back in top form.

Curious to see what Kash can do in the Portugal and in the Vuelta.

He said he had the form to do a top 10 in the tour, a bit weird considering he was so badly placed in the dauphine, but he could have taken it easy.

Anyway, he might to a to 10-15 in the Vuelta, considering he was already 18th last year.

Andrey Kashechkin in Astana until the end of 2013
Last Updated on Thursday, August 4, 2011 16:00 | Written by P. AMATO | | |

The rider Andrey Kashechkin has signed a contract with the team PRO TEAM ASTANA the binder until the end of 2013 season. It therefore represents the colors of his country as a leader on the upcoming Vuelta starting August 20 this year.

Andrey Kashechkin 31-year-old arrives at the Vuelta with real ambitions to recall he finished in third place in 2006. It will also, probably the best hope for the Kazakh final ranking of the next Tour de France.

Dr.Aidar Makhmetov (sales manager of Astana Pro Team) said "we intend to bring together the best riders and the return of Kazakh Kashechkin is an important step in the formation of truly national team"

It's from Kashechkins website

huh??? now i'm confused

I think he/she is expressing surprise at the re-emergence from Cycling Hades of Djamolidine Abdoujaparov which, for myself too on reading it, was a profound shock. :)

After testing positive no less than seven times in 1997, the 'Tashkent Terror' was banned and retired after an appeal went against him the following year.

He then promptly disappeared off the face of the earth and charming articles were written by journalists about their attempts to track down the lonely pigeon keeper that he had allegedly become. :)

Actually, Abdou appeared a few times as guest on russian Eurosport, talking with commentator.

Aslo according to those in the know he has been in close contact with Kashechkin all these suspension years (hence why he is now with Astana together with Andrey)

Where info, that Abdou was Kash's personal trainer before Road World Champ 2009, on which Kash failed just to finish.

So true. I thought he would go better but he did have a long layoff and at Lampre he barely raced at all. He did also ride to support Kessiakoff who has now unfortunately succumbed to gastro.
