Man, I can't believe it has taken him this long to realize that coming in 2nd place sucks! Wonder how he will feel about 1st place if AC is disqualified?

In the article AS states "I have regrets." If it was a mechanical then what is there to regret? It was not a result of his actions. It just happened.

I'm half joking in regards to his thinking 2nd place sucks. Thing is, it is competition and I would think he should have begun to immediately focus on toughening up and strengthening that skinny body of his for next year. He needs to get some "Badger" or "Cannibal" mentality instead of simply stating "I have regrets". For example: "It sucked to lose the tour the way I did last year. I need to make some changes to my program and come back and kick some royal a$$ next year".

Somebody get Schleck his pacifier and a set of diapers.

I guess it's a PR thing. Leopard is trying to reposition Andy. Too bad, as they effort make Andy spit himself in the face.
But probably only a fraction of the total target audience remembers what he really said last year, so PR-wise it's not a bad move.

Remember the time when Contador was the new "Chosen One" of cycling, Pat McQuaid himself stated that he believes Contador is clean and etc. And then came autumn of 2010 and his positive test, and we know are told that Contador has damaged cycling and should be punished.

Well, what else should McQuaid have said? No matter if he is in bed with some chose ones or not, as long as a guy isn't positive it would be very very stupid for the highest official in the sport to say he thinks someone is a doper. The remarks like the 'men in black' comment the uci made in the past were just stupid comments to make pr-wise.

Ehm, yes, right. Least inspiring... In 2010 contador and schleck found out after 1 or 2 mountainstages that they were the 2 strongest guys in it, and just were fighting with each other. Just imagine last years tour without Contador, Schleck would have watched the competition in the first 1 or 2 mountain stage, and then attack and taken minutes in the other mountainstages. Everybody would love to see a guy win the tour in the mountains, taking time over TT guys. I mean, without contador, you really find guys like menchov or vdbroeke more inspiring/interesting gc riders?

And this is from someone who rooted for contador over schleck last year.

Fwiw, even after yesterday's announcement AS is still saying he considers Contador the winner of the Tour.
We'll see if he eventually changes his tune.

i've never liked the schlecks and probably never will but the andy's statements about rebellin's victory and now alberto's are respectfull and pretty classy.
