Well at least they have a good Italian rider, unlike in Belgium. I like it, I hope that they get an Italian champion soon.TMP402 said:Sky did release an Italian jersey for the Giro - sadly I can't find a page for it online but here are two pics:

This is how the Japanese champion's jersey has always looked - white with that red-white-red stripe plus flag on the chest.Christian said:![]()

Hence why even Radioshack had to make Devolder a proper jersey, and why with Movistar, Visconti and all the Spaniards got crappy three-stripes-in-the-middle-of-the-normal-kit outfits, but Dowsett's British TT kit was white with the national bands.
That German jersey looks good. Because white with the flag bands matches the national sporting colours and a traditional jersey style it means it's a hard jersey to make a mess of (unless you're Radioshack). I think because the sponsor's logo involves thick, bold black text it will make more sense with the black bibs personally.

I wish the British jersey would lose the three bands - Britain is not a tricolour flag nation and it seems wrong to me. I'd prefer the national team jersey from the worlds last year (the Addidas stripes on the sleeves remind me of the German football kit, which I like very much):

Alex Dowsett even said while being interviewed, that for the next year he'll be recognised as the British or Dutch national champion. It raised a laugh between people off camera.jaylew said:TMP402 said:Libertine Seguros said:The Belgians wouldn't allow an Astana-style jersey. Like the Brits they're quite strict on their jersey. I agree. I see the one on the right and I think UK. I see the one on the left and I think the Netherlands first, then Luxembourg, Russia, France and the other 59 European countries that use three stripes of red, white, and blue on their flag. So boring.

I don't mind if a national jersey is strictly traditional, very innovative, or at some point inbetween as long as it is clearly visible and instantly identifiable as a champions jersey. Champion Systems had a number of very well designed "creative" takes on national jerserys.
