Banged up abroad (aka locked up abroad) isnt always great, and a lot of the episodes and stories seem very very similar.

But this episode they showed on 1 of the UK channels this week, is absolutely INSANE.

Out of the ones not mentioned yet, I liked "The Shield" a lot.

Im pretty sure i mentioned the shield somewhere. It was really good. Something totally different. Mackeys rap sheet is longer than any villain in tv history, and hes the good guy. Absolutely hillarious the mafiaesque lengths he will go to to get his way.

The last TV drama I followed through the entire series was Hill Street Blues, The first season of house and occasional visits to the wire.

Today I watch Big Bang Theory as about the only TV series I watch regularly.

Nova. Daily Planet, Frontline, 60 minutes Science programs are generally what I watch from TV and of course Movies.

For as much TV as I watch I mostly hate it all.

Good to see Dexter and Breaking Bad on their last series. After so many series, the ideas and scripts lose their impact. I still thought the last series of Dexter was much better than the previous one.

1. the Heriott series: All Creatures Great and Small
2. Call the Midwife

?. The Wonder Years

Hon Mention
MASH, Hill St Blues, Rocky and Bullwinkle

Lots of good shows, lots. Seinfeld, Law and Order, more. Scrubs can be pretty funny. Not sure how it will look in 10 years.

But GREAT means I can go back and watch reruns and still enjoy them. There were some edu shows on the history of civilization that fall into that category for me - but I can't remember the names of them, and I'd have to dig through my old VCR tapes to find the copies I have.

Of course, ANY of the cycling movies are automatically enjoyable watched more than once. Star Trek, on the other hand, falls into the same category as Gilligan's Island - it was merely the best available at the moment, and retrospect is pretty cringeworthy.

At the time Rocky and Bullwinkle was very funny. MASH still stands up. I never liked Gilligan's Island, Bewitched or the Addam's Family but I liked the Munsters, Hogan's Heroes, I Dream of Jeanie and Mr Ed ! Go figure. But laughter at any time is not a bad thing I suppose. Not sure if Mr Ed would do it for me now but there are enough semi-human politicians around ie horse's asses to suffice.

The **** Cavett Show is the best talk show of all time! I've watched some interviews recently and they hold up amazingly well. There are a lot of them on Youtube.

I'd also recommend the British series "Colditz" (if you can get it on DVD) and "Life" with Damian Lewis.

Life was a quirky show. Liked that one. Cavett show was very good, some great interviews, the type you don't see anymore maybe because Cavett was a reader !
