what he does do, that i don't like, is constantly sound like he is making excuses for his performance

pedaling squares said:Wow. Harsh. The guy just rode 4 consecutive GT's: wins le Tour, 3rd in the Vuelta, 3rd (now) in the Giro... and one bad showing means the end of his GC days? I wouldn't write Carlos off yet.
karlboss said:Still wants TDF, and should. If armstrong is anything to go by he has another 4 years at least to try. So much for being past it.
As for the team I doubt he will want to share leadership but want the backing of a strong team.
Katusha, want a GC contender, noone to split duties with or upset and on paper a very strong team.
mickkk said:If he cant get out of his contract, he wont ride, he will have a year off and go back to mtb SOLO.

Jonathan said:After Silence, I'd say Columbia is most likely. Perhaps that team should have been in the poll.
auscyclefan94 said:Sounds good but where does that leave McEwan and Steegmans. I think AG2R might be also a good choice IF thier is no ttt as they have riders who can ride very high in the overall
Again, I can't see Garmin wanting Evans. His talent, sure, but not at the expense of team dynamics.auscyclefan94 said:Cadel would be an excellent addition to Garmin's tour team if it is a supporting roll or as the team leader. Wish him the best.
karlboss said:evans has ridden with a mcewan and had no problems...he said at the time that he only needed one maybe 2 riders who could really help in the high mountains

auscyclefan94 said:...That's why he has finished twice in second place before at the tour... makes sense (not)
you really are letting national pride cloud your judgement....auscyclefan94 said:Same with Cadel... 2nd at 2008 tdf, 4th at 2007 Vuelta, 2nd at 2007 tdf. Same with Menchov as well. Thsoe guys will come back stronger than ever i believe
frankly has been pi55 poor for a while.

(although he has at least gfained some sense of humour.. when he got to the C-E on sunday and the fans all shouted for charlie - nope, not a single person calling cadels name - he joined in and started chanting charlies name as well.. - and sorry, yes really, not a single person was shouting cadels name on sunday, his popularity is that low.. ) but anyway...
history counts for nothing.. hes come second twice, so what... ? i honestly think if he wants a team leaders job at another team, hes going to be looking at one of the smaller, non pro tour teams, and hoping to get an invite. . or domestique under a top rider..
Mal_71 said:Bit harsh, didn't he finish 2nd in the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré beating Contador??
I admit he's not the most popular guy out there & is prone to whining but he's still a pretty good rider.

BroDeal said:I would have said that about Sastre a year and a month ago. Cadel might be like Hincapie and Paris-Roubaix. Hincapie could win P-R if everything fell into place, but it is not likely to ever happen.
Evans might benefit a lot from a change. A new team might adjust his training or simply put him in a situation where he has a better mental outlook.
