Now that he's a world champion?
I highly doubt Silence-Lotto will want to get rid of him anymore...
At the time of the tour, I was thinking that an english speaking team is the best option for cadel. The belgians teams (IMO) are very "you race for us, you must win for us", whereas the english speaking teams are much more relaxed with their approach being "we will do everything to help you win".
Unfortunately for Cadel, his talent is not needed on Columbia, Garmin or RadioShack in terms of targeting the Mellow Yellow. No doubt, if JV was his director, or Bruyneel, then his success (and mindset) would change as these two are great directors that motivate rather than punish a rider. Perhaps, as many suggested, he goes to one of these teams as an ardennes classics/giro/vuelta team leader, and a helper/decoy in the TDF. He absolutely deserves a GT to his name, and I think the 09 Giro was a chance, but he refused to race.
The jist is: if he wants the TDF, he stays at Silence, and potentially misses out on victory again. If he wants classics and giro/vuelta, he should move to Garmin or RadioShack, and probably win.
Whats more important for him, another TDF podium, or a Giro/Vuelta WIN ??
