Its one thing to discount ttts or mechanical problems or crashes where a time loss is not a riders fault. Uphill finishes and tts however are entirely up to the riders themselves.
ok, let me dumb it down for you: There will be no more TT this vuelta. When genuine time differences are concerned on uphill finishes JVDB is in 2nd place. Fast forward to next week: no TT, only flat and mountains. Hence (normally i'd say "connect the dots", but i will gladly walk you through it), considering his form and preparation, considering there are no more TT yet more mountains with more than likely larger time differences (where time bonusses will play a smaller role) it is not unlikely he will gain quite a few places. How much, i dont know. But again, i never claimed he was going to win.
