Speaking as a female, he has always been Hot :D
He needs to put on some nice biceps, triceps and pecs if he wants to be something more than a cute face.

For those who say you can't be a great rider with lots of upper-body muscle...

I'm gonna have to watch that Gaviria crash again. It looked like Fabian came up with quite a cool sliding maneuver to dodge Gaviria. Too bad about today's race and result, but the race just wasn't hard enough to make a difference for the strongest riders.

He won't have an easy time on the cobbles.
Not sure if I like his bossing around the chase. I guess everybody ride their race how they want.

You mean this?

I had just posted it in the race thread.

Ofcourse not. Everybody will be riding against him (and Sagan).

Last year, so why didn't he attack like 2012?? He cant do a sprint against Kristoff, Demare & Bouhanni.
Because he rather loose then bring Sagan to finale although his chance woud be 50/50. :)
If they went for it together with Nibali, GVA and EBH when Kwiatko started the atack , there would have been no chance for peloton to catch them. However none of them was willing to sacriface himself. Cance for Sagan, Sagan for GVA :)

I respect Cance a lot but I am kind of glad that this is his last season. Sagan has no chance to win the monument where Cance is riding. :) I hope I will be prooved wrong in April :)

Tactically I don't think Cancellara is Sagan's problem. They worked together in Strade Bianche perfectly. Honestly, I don't think Fabian is worried about Sagan in a monument sprint, where Fabian should have the benefit of a better endurance

I dont agree, I get the feeling that Sagan and Cancellara have a some mutual respect for eachother. I know Cancellara commented on Sagan in the Tour 2012 but Sagan has learned from this. Of course Cancellara is not gonna tow Sagan to the line but I dont think they will ride against each other anymore than the other riders. Sagan is currently in the same position that Cancellara has been in for the last 5-6 six years or so and I think Cancellara acknowledges that.

Why attack when you can tow everyone else to Kwiatkowski and then get beaten in the sprint, asks Fabian.

rewatched final kms from San Remo today and one thing stood out to me. In the final km after Gaviria and Sagan rode up to Hagen and GVA Cancellara could not close down the gap to the 4 riders ahead. Only after Debusschere passed him and Hagen sat up Cancellara got back to Sagans wheel.

was very suprised when i noticed that.

I think he was just gambling to keep his power dry but I am not sure.

This could very well be the case. He is very smart and isn't going to panic the way others might.

I am wonder why about so great rider as Cancellara is, only 6 pages have been written in years, there are so many threads about less important riders with much more posts, it is just interesting for me :)

I guess that's because Cancellara is a known measure for some years now, there's not much to speculate about: no new races, no great changes in tactics, no change of team....

What? Cancellara didnt work very much in the front group, then launched an attack to try and win the race but was closed down by an Etixx rider (Trentin I believe) and Sagan. As soon as Sagan bridged, Cancellara sat up. If anything, he was riding to win the race and didnt Care for a minor placement

The old long thread about Spartacus got lost when they "upgraded" the forum. Few threads were started before one finally stuck.

He lost a few meters in a left turn. To his defense he'd just come up with a strong attack

Today's ride bodes well for RVV and P-R, to say the least :)

Yes - RVV especially. In PR I could see someone faster taking the win, but ain't no buddy gonna stop him on the bergs. :)

If ofcourse it ends in a group sprint. Even then I think, Fabians 4th place today indicates that he can beat almost anybody in a sprint if the race is tough enough
