Fuentes isn't going to tell ****, he's Omerta all the way. He probably just said that to blackmail the court into letting him off with the implicit threat of exposing half of Spain's biggest sports stars.

Agree.

Somewhere out there, there is a blood bag with Luigi on it.

It might get matched. Might not.

Until then...

Just a couple of days ago he told Marca he would not release the list unless prompted by a judge...

It's a fact that the Rock Racing guys thought Cancellara was Luigi. Look up Michael Creed's tweets, for example.

Personally I'm pretty sure when something is known within the peloton they're usually right about it.

I'm not sure. Carlos Barredo claimed Hushovd is "Tor", but it looks like Tor isn't even a cyclist.

So when a rider looks fit, the natural inference is that said rider uses AICAR?

if you can read you see il cobra is guessing, not naturally infering.
and not a bad guess.

Hard not to interpret it is an inference on his behalf...
well it's not a bad guess/inference.
bruyneel was into aicar in 2009 already.
i think aicar is still not being tested for, is it?
the use of it in the peloton must be rampant.
no wonder Di Luca was called "stupid", "dumb" and "a fool" by his colleagues when he tested positive for epo.

Here's a picture from 2008:
cancellara_passes_schumi.jpg

I don't think Aicar was in use back then already (or, if we want to get all conspirational, maybe Cancellara was one of the pioneers of it?).

Anyway, all I can see is that he's as trimmed as he was for the Olympics, and we all know how that road race went.
Cancellara will be there in Firenze; his only problem could be that he's too strong for his own good.

I heard a lot of rumors about AICAR in 2008-2009, not as much recently.

he looks roughly as fit there as he does now.
of course the exact contents of his lunch box have changed over the years. some things have become detectable.
but aicar may well have been an ingredient of both lunch boxes.
or aicar may have replaced something that was in his 2008 lunchbox and has since become detectable.

@sniper

See the JV quote.

It could very well explain his transformation back then. Absolute monster on the Alpe stage that year.

I think his amazing Beijing form was a cocktail of BB, CERA and Aicar.

yeah saw that thanks.

I'm not sure what WADA are doing with AICAR. Apparently elevated levels of AICAR are detectable in urine, and some scientific studies have established a natural limit, but WADA isn't accepting or working with that limit (yet).

Here (from June 2013):
http://www.tagesspiegel.de/sport/doping-bei-der-tour-de-france-aicar-ist-das-neue-epo/8416506.html

I'm not sure if this means they aren't testing for aicar at all though.

The evidence we have against Cancellara is what Tyler and Creed have implied, which is imo pretty damning. These pictures prove nothing though.

Good thing then that no one has claimed that they proved anything ;)
