I'm not bringing links today, because this thread so far seems to be about opinions, but La Gazzetta has video of Ventoso making the claims against Cavendish. Tuttobiciweb has multiple articles and blogs going about it. One person says that Cavendish lost half an hour the first time up Etna, but went up the second time faster than Contador did. There's talk of him hanging onto an open window and being pushed by a teammate. Maybe someone who has the stage on tape would like to see where Cav was when he was on screen?

He was the last guy to make the time cut, but other riders would have been around to see it. He finished in a group of 8, with others not far ahead. I'll hold out my own judgment until more actual evidence comes forward.

By the way, I read somewhere the other day that the plan is for Cav & Renshaw to leave after Stage 12.

That's quite a story if true - basically you're claiming the car moto-towed him from the Mcewan group to the group of 8 (unless they were all hitching a ride in the HTC mini-van too).

I'd be rather amused if it turned out to be true, but I can't see it to be honest.

For what it's worth, Ventoso and Fischer were quoted before today's stage and, thus, before Cav's stage win.

I did, however, start this thread after today's stage when I came across the linked article in the Danish press.

which might have been a tactic to try and unsettle Cav for today.

Hogwash, Cav and super mario have never towed, nor has toemke ever drafted his team car. Ever!
What rubbish these guys never, ever tow!

I'm sure he had a bit of help, but I doubt he hung onto a car for 10km. That's just not possible.

Without proof I won't judge him and give him the benefit of the doubt.

p.s. Isn't better to instantly get rid of people who create an account here just to make an insult on the forum?

Anyone wonder how Ventoso and Fischer knew what Cav was doing - as they finished 2 & 3 minutes ahead of Cav respectively?

Also Cav may have finished last, but he finished in a group of eight riders - amazing no-one there saw anything or commented.

Tv Images show Cav finishing on top of Etna with a commissaires motorbike just behind him.

Also in this age of everyone having a digital camera and mobile phones with cameras it would have been captured for over 10kms and posted online.

People having a go at Cav, as usual.

Pathetic.

Did anyone see the interveiw after the stage where he was asked about the allegations. He stated that the commisairs were with his group all the way and that the team are wearing the fair play numbers (red, white & green) as they've had no penalties given against them.

Well i would assume that Rabon, Rasmussen and Renshaw wouldnt say if anything did happen but there were four others with some other guys just in front.

I guess that proves it then, coming from the mouth of the accused and not the commissairs.;)
