Yeah, he may have got 11 wins in his first year and 10 stages of the Tour de France and Milan-San Remo, but what has he won for us LATELY?

I guess if "nothing" seems to you as thought I am wound up, you must not have read many of my posts.

... that was me winding you up. That right there. That obviously facetious post about what have you won for me lately. Was me. Winding you up. And it worked. Twice.

Oh look, it's the classic "pretend you were just trolling when it's pointed out that you're a ***" approach.

If you don't mind PS - the highlighted above is where I think Cav's comments have been overplayed.

I don't believe he was saying anything about Griepel when he said 'sh*t small races'.

I took that to mean that Cav is trying to peak for his main goals, while Greipel is just piling up stats in the small races. I thought that was a snotty reaction to Greipel having more wins in the bag so far this year. Either way, the kid has to learn that when you have that kind of talent and support there's nothing more impressive than keeping the lips sealed and letting your legs do the talking. But he won't.

I read it the way you did.

Maybe he won't keep his mouth shut, but he was responding to something Greipel said that implied an insult. He's a hot-headed kid, no doubt, but come July, I'm sure his legs will be screaming.

I have been reading these forums for a few days now and most of the posts seem to involve several different people going at each other. The easy going nature isnt there. It's hostile. I thought computer gamer forums were bad.

Haven't you just harmed Jamsque's earning potential?

I hope you don't litter this forum with insults like this about other users, because that would make you a bigger A-hole than Cavendish supposedly is.

Do you see?

cav's legacy will tell.

cool it off guys.

we are talking about 20 something young talented brash riders with big egos to boot.

do you really expect them being polished smooth talkers whilst recovering their breath after races with a microphone stuck in their faces ??

do you seriously think they are trained in the code of chivalry or royal etiquette even if born in great britain ?

Cav said a bunch of stupid things particularly when implying a teammate.

There is no denying it !

what we need to take home is that it’s his problem to fix and learn from.

if he does, he’ll gain more fans and euros. if he does not, he’ll disappear as fast as he appeared.

leave it up to cav’s legacy to decide on, not some hating emotion in you.

You guys have "humor"? Who knew?

I thought all the foaming at the mouth was due to hygiene issues. I didn't realize so many people took him that seriously. His teammates shouldn't...oh wait; those are the guys he's denigrating. Bad form.

Being a proven expert on the nuances of being an a-hole, we will defer to you on this one.

Cav's not Cippo. The kids got a manc accent and bucked teeth. Cippo could bang 28 chics in one session. Cav was beaten hard by the ugly stick.

Doesn't Cavendish remind you of the kid in school who tries so hard to be cool but isn't? This guy will fade very quickly.

I miss watching McEwen jumping around and past all those lead out clowns. If I want to hear some chatterin' I'll take Robbie's mouth over these guys any day of the week.

I agree. McEwen was such a pleasure to watch. Too bad he is at the end of his career.

Stick to the racing threads. These guys are all best buddies when there're wheels on the asphalt (or cobbles, as is the case lately).

wait, wait..

did robbie at 37 EVER mouthed his age like armstrong to explain his lack of wins ? please confirm.

did other 37-38 year olds in the peloton EVER mouthed their age as often as armstrong in his tweets ?

jens is as old as texas and yet he dropped a bunch of riders this year (almost half his age) to accrue some remarkable victories !

vino is 37 and kicking. not a peep about being old.

why is that the old age whining is acceptable for the only rider who never seemed to whine before ?

Evening all.

Cav's absolutely my favourite rider :)

He knows his own shortcomings and tries to deal with his temper the best way he can and it's comedic the way he writes about it in his book.

I think perhaps again it might be a cultural difference as to why again, a lot of American posters don't 'get' Cav. Perhaps that cultural difference just comes down to being sanctimonious and having a 'different' sense of humour..: cool:

No wonder the old guy walked in & out of here..

What is for sure I'm sure he absolutely meant to state his case as top dog, he wants to ride the big ones and win the big ones - the rest are inferior.

Greipel is a good rider but I'm sure Cav will be going nuts that he isn't riding the Giro and rightly so.

The guy is a winner and wears his heart on his sleeve.
