Don't worry. Even if he mentioned the r word, I think it is clear to everyone since minimum 2 years now that Froome is only in it for the money. And he'll be in it for another 2 years, if his body doesn't completely fail him.

There’s just a problem with the bike, helmet, shoes, sunglasses, gloves, ear piece, water bottle, and gearing. Once that’s all sorted out he’s ready to go.

I saw him in that one day race won by Carapaz and there he was significantly better than this. And this race has a way weaker field. I'm willing to cut him some slack and say that even for present-day Froome this is horribly bad.
