Christopher Froome has been named as a starter for Israel PremierTech at the four-stage Giro d'Abruzzo starting on April 9.
He will be the ceremonial team leader at the Italian race as he has been assigned number 81.
It will be a challenging parcours for Froome with a total of 11,443 metres of climbing to overcome
Apparently he's off the startlist now
(deja vu)

The way things are going, Froome just might contest for podium at the tour
What, the newly started Tour of Kenya with only him and two others starting? He may have a chance on finishing on the podium of that one. The others can only use bikes with three gears, so Froome doesnt get dropped and can be able to hang on in the end. He needs that advantage after a horrendous decline and stealing money for years.

According to PCS now, he's not on the startlist and George Bennett takes 81.

Froome is being put out to pasture.

Chris must like his Tour chances now, given what happened in the Basque Country. Vingo would be probably too strong even for hard-miles tuned Chris but now...Pog won't be 100% so only the crash-prone ski-jumper is left as a worthy rival. #5 is now or never! :D

I am getting angry and I am very disapionted with this kind of things....

He was on 2 races on the startlist, but finally no Racing. This was a good race for him. The main problem is nobody say anything about. Chris put a video training at Madone saying he is 5% off his best moments, but he miss races...I dont understand.

This is very disapointing for followers...happends last year and this again.

I can only assume since he broke his wrist last month the team believes he's not fit enough to race.

I have just gone on his most recent post on Youtube and he replied to a comment saying he is hoping to do the TDF and Vuelta this year. The post was less than 3 weeks ago. I don't really know how he expects to do those with only Rwanda and maybe one of Suisse or Dauphine. IPT are only doing one day races in April and May from now on. I hope Riccitello does the Giro again since there is not much else for him.

That has no sense, he is totally ok.Peiole with surgery was riding ok a month later and he didnt surgery. I would like to know if is the team or he himself , who doesnt want to race. Today is dangerous to go to a race, and his main objetive is to be 100 % at le Tour, but...IOT IS the second strong teams of the race and he would have help his team mates very well to get stages and be on the podium..or even himself...I dont understand...the forecast is good as well...if there is an explanation, no problem, i like to watch hin riding, but I could understand..this way I am angry.

By the way...him team has the right to be on Romandie, the same than Catalunya...why IS It not on the startlist? They refused Basque Country....as well Romandie? No stages races for the team?

You need to do 6.5 w/kg on Senhora da Graça to win Volta a Portugal. Froome can't do that at the moment.

Froome is getting the hard miles to win the Vuelta 2026 with 41 years.
I imagine 2026 Nibali and Valverde can give him better fights than how they did against Horner in their primes

I hope anyway the team do Romandie. No at the startlist but I think It was the same at Cataluña.

Say it aint so!
https://cyclinguptodate.com/cycling...ficult-chris-froome-realistic-about-his-level
Froome does however, have to admit another Maillot Jaune is unlikely. “A fifth Tour de France for me is always there as a dream, but I think I've come to the reality now that returning to that level of really fighting for victory at the Tour de France is certainly going to be very, very difficult," he admits. “For me right now, I would just love to get back to the Tour de France. Even if I'm there fighting in the mountains, potentially for another stage win, that would be amazing.”

Seriously, anybody knows why? it is one of the best teams out of WT and is missing most of the stage races...war? Maybe for the name of the team...I dont like that country, but as well not Emirates... And that wouldnt be a reason...It had no sense, but there is not explanation?

“It would have been really interesting to have raced against them in my best years" - Chris Froome confident he could have challenged Pogacar & Vingegaard for Tour de France
