Now rewatch the cobbled stage of that Tour and you'll see someone racing with style and not relying on 5 team-mates to bring him to the finish-line.
Fuglsang and Westra did huge amounts of work for him on that stage

Still put his nose more in the wind that day than Froome has in his 4 Tour wins combined.

It's also very noticeable that the only people fawning over Froome in this thread are British.

I am 100% Italian, I dont fawn, I am aware of doping as many fans. it's fun to see people go mad at him ;) :D

It sure is.

 Yes, a lot of fun for 100 % Pole.

Missed opportunity to add some red to the outfit to emphasize the double. But would the Koreans even know?
why he sould have red . organized by le Tour de France, participated as winner of le Tour de France
Isn't the ASO also a big shareholder of the Vuelta organisation? But whatever, Koreans mostly won't know the Vuelta, so it might be confusing.

This one will be all on the first week for Froome, unless the required amount of rouleurs combined with having a rider less weakens the Sky train more than I expect. Dumoulin and Nibali are both better on the cobbles than him and there is always the chance that something happens echelon-wise. If Froome starts stage 10 with little to no deficit, only a Machucos before the final climb, a Formigal or a crash will stop him - all highly unlikely.

Not sure why you think that...
Porte has a team which can put time into Sky in the TTT. He may be a better climber than Froome himself. Even if they come out of that 1st week with nothing between them, its gonna be 50:50. Same goes for Quintana.
Froome has to come out ahead in the first week if he has to win this. He has to use the echelons and cobbles to distance rivals(Better climbers) not just defend. 2015 type. The good thing is that he has the team to get it done.
Domoulin better on cobbles? How?
Even if Domoulin, Nibali gain a minute on Froome on the cobbles, they wont be able to defend that in the mountains.

Come on Froome fans , Frumi will have no problem in winning this amateur race he will win also the giro , he does'nt need to gain time in the first week , he will demolish everybody on ADH and cement his place as GOAT

I think he will be happy. Cobbles might be a bit of a scare. But enough TTT / ITT kilometers to distance the climbers, and not enough to get a scare from Tom. Easy 5th win

With Cookson's departure I highly doubt that Froome will win another Tour de France. I think it's end of an era. The question is who will benefit from this? Quintana, Dumoulin, French guys, or someone else?

What are you talking about? He had already won a tour, in absurdly dominant fashion, before Cookson was elected.

As far as I remember, Cookson wasnt the president in 2011, 2012 or 2013.
Maybe we'll see 2013 Froomey back since Cookson is gone. Good riddance! :) :D

Even if Domoulin, Nibali gain a minute on Froome on the cobbles, they wont be able to defend that in the mountains.
Quintana is inevitably going to lose time in week 1 given his size and the fact that Movistar are low on rouleurs, and he'll lose more time in the ITT - combined, 2 minutes at the very least. Quintana's best climbing tends to come in the third week, where het only has Portet as a hard MTF, and I'd be highly surprised to see him attack on the Tourmalet or anything else far out. All in all, he just is not likely to gain enough in the mountains.
Porte never does well in GTs and the cobbles are just another banana peel for him, and he's never outclimbed Froome in a GT anyway.
Dumoulin always does well in the cobbles against the specialists in the Eneco/BinckBank Tour, Froome has never done cobbles outside the Tour. I also don't understand how you expect Froome to put a minute or more into Nibali in the mountains while being outclimbed by others.

Really get the idea that we'll lose a lot of contenders in the first weeks due to crashes or missed splits. Could happen to Froome, but he's the most unlikely.

Well i hope that nobody will crash in the first week or lose time for other rider crash , i want that the best climber win and that is frumi

Yes, Porte might be the main Froome's threat.
But I'm not sure about Quintana.
Nibali and Tom - not in this route and with Bahrain and Sunweb teams.

It might be possible, for those who have signed up
for the "clinic" ( :surprised: ) with Chris on the Friday prior
to L'etape Australia, to ask the 4-time Tour champ
what he thinks of the route he will have to tackle in
his quest for a historic fifth Tour de France victory.

It might not be possible to ask Froomey anything as
he rides past in the actual L'Etape (he starts at the
back and rides through the field as he did last year)
particularly if that happens on an uphill section. :)
